I personally just focus on the fast and juice calories. I save exercise for metabolism recovery. Plus with water fasting ,which I do, one is not really suppose to exercise much or work up a sweat to be on the safe side.
Since you are doing juice it is safe to exercise but be aware of your calories and hydration level to avoid "shock"
You should only cut 1000 calories from total intake max to avoid stalls/shocks. Keep the calorie level at an average 1000-1200 at the lowest to avoid shock too.
Just a fat burning tip that really works for fasting:
Keeping you activity "low impact" like walking instead of running (high impact) you burn a high amount of fat percentage wise. The intense exercise will burn more calories and take more weight off BUT if you want to lose in the long run try to make your goal to preserve lean muscle tissue with weightlifting and low impact cardio.
I know this is belated....
But I would love to join. I keep putting it off.
I just found a place that delivers fresh made juice blends AND I can order online. So I really have no excuses...lol
That is as easy as ordering a pizza but better choices health wise. Not quite as $$$ as japanese either..lol
Also if you have been on a juice fast before, were you able to lose the amount of weight you wanted?
Yes I have juice and water fasted before. I did not set a weight goal but listened to my body. It seems to like to fast away 10-15 pounds before it asks for food. I do not like to push it because when I have, it ends up in rebound eating. I do however want to push for this final 20.
How long did it take you?
It has taken different amounts of time due to the types of fasts or my body's weight.
(higher weight = higher metabolism = faster loss/day)
Do you have any advice on what juices I should have specifically?
I like to have whatever I am craving really. It makes me stick to my plan and I have gotten better at listening to my body through fasting. I find that my body craves what it is short on. My favorites are orange, lemon/lime-o-aid w/ organic sweetner, the master cleanse mix, coconut milk diluted. I just make sure to count the calories of my juices so I don't overdo it on the sugar calories.
I want to try a mixed fast to lose 20 lbs and get back to my old weight of youth.
I have already lost 50+ with "diets"/fasting and kept it off with lifestyle changes of just eating better.
Today is last supper and then I will post my starter weight Wed. morning. I think its 125-130ish.
Are you making a progress photo diary or anything?
I think I am going to do a mixed fasting of water and juice with maybe a raw food meal with digestives enzymes 1-2 times a week.
One of the best weightloss methods for me was fasting every other day. I may move that if the strait juice/water and raw food makes me feel too sick with weightloss and detox. I like to keep it pleasant as possible.
I am not exercising other than yoga (mild stretches nothing like hot yoga etc)
