I have fibroids and heavy bleeding. Only yesterday I learned that both can be traced back to high levels of estrogen. I only discovered this information because I'm making 'the passage' and have been reading up on bio-identical hormone replacement. Previous to reading this information I had had blood work done for a consult I have scheduled for Monday. Estrogen was one of the levels I was checked for. Guess what, my estrogen is off the charts. I wonder how many years it's been going on as I've always had problems with heavy cycles. There is something called an 'Estrogen type' individual, someone who normally runs high in this hormone. My girls are heavy bleeders on their cycles as well, so my guess is we are all 'Estrogen Types". I'm not sure what the answer is for a high estrogen type, but I'm sure fibroids and heavy cycle is not a 'normal' course of events. I'll keep you posted.
