Tipping at a colonic irrigation clinic or facility that "appreciates" tipping -doesn't sound like a common practice. You go there, have a service rendered and pay the fee expected. And considerang as well, how rates for colonics have skyrocketed over the years, some places on the verge of charging almost $200.00 for what once went for anywhere, from say $55-$65, there shouldn't be any tipping expected!!

I performed colonics for years and never asked or expected a tip. Occasionally a client would tip and I would graciously accept, but also let them know it was not expected. Frankly, I believe the whole tipping thing has gotten way out of hand. All the professions that you've mentioned are professional people and the fees for their services are in a professional healers range. I wouldn't tip a doctor, dentist or psychotherapist...why tip and colon hydrotherapist or acupuncturist? I myself feel awkward about the tipping of massage therapists. I think that it is generally expected and wonder if it goes back to the days when 'massage parlors' offered 'special services'...if you get my drift! Heck, even some hair stylists make more money for their services than some healing professionals, and yet expect to be tipped.

Your question is a very reasonable one, though. I knew that many clients were uncertain about whether a tip was expected and I would always tell them NO. If you go to someone regularly for colonics, a nice gesture is to give them a tip or small gift during the holidays...if you want to do something special to show your appreciation. And I loved it when a client would bring me some homemade healthy yummy!
