I2 is definitely needed. what has not been studied is just how much I2 is necessary.
as i have explained before, I2 is highly oxidative and can cause oxidative stress at higher dosages.
the 2% I2 added to
SSKI provides this needed form with much less oxidative stress du to the much higher ratio of
KI to I2.
all of my experimenting with
KI led me to conclude that much of the benefit of
Lugols could be attributed to the bulk of total iodine, regardless of the form. in fact, it is known that vitamin C is needed by some to facilitate uptake. well, vit C is simply a reducer of I2. why not take it already reduced?
with the help of large amounts of KI, the I2 is free to do its thing. its like the
Iodide is running interference for the I2.
I2 peaks and is gone out of serum in two hours. to get maximum benefit from the I2, one drop per hour would make the most sense. i believe this protocol would address FBD and other cycts in the most effective manner.
i like lugols, but higher doses, if needed, are hard to accomplish. keep in mind, too, that i am in the high dosage camp. there are definite benefits to high doses of KI. there is also such a thing as too much, but that would be hard to do keeping the total dosage of
SSKI or
SSKI 2% under one gram. i am convinced that a gram a day of
KI is possible and potentially beneficial. a higher sustained intake runs the risk of disbiosis and mineral depletion.
