On may 31st, we celebrate World No Tobacco Day which has been declared by the World Health Organization.

probably the biggest issue with cigarettes are the chemicals put in the tobacco rather than the tobacco itself. If the gov't cared, they would force the companies to stop manipulating their products with chemicals.

When I read your post, I immediately agreed with your points.

These are the REASONS I have kept on smoking for decades...even if I did giggle about them, along the way.


NOW, what to do about the addiction aspect? And the additives?


There must be substitutes...other helpful replacements for tobacco...if only because tobacco doesn't grow around here. ...At least, I don't think it does.


I prefer to use medicinal plants that grow close to home...when I can.

NOT that I would smoke them, of course...or even swallow them. I might stand by them, in the wild, and breathe in...especially at twilight. That's when plants exhale, I think...and the scents rise.

Oxygen, too?


I like that you make the point about the real cause of breathing problems...the exhaust of gasoline-burning machines. (And molds?)


Did you notice the blue skies over Bejing during the Olympics?

The Chinese Olympic officials 'got' the message that athletes were leaving because of the air pollution.


Can you imagine the efforts they must have put in to clear their skies, virtually overnight?


And what they learned from the exercise?

Even the average person-in-the-street in Bejing must now know what they prefer!


There is no stopping information like that!


Linenup makes a good point, too...that the government that cares (or understands), would force the non-manipulation of products with chemicals.


It's all about vibration, of course, how much can the body manage to neutralize, or convert to more useful vibrations.

That's 'the line in the sand' for all of us, I think.

Though I do believe we are far more organized and powerful than we know.

I also like going to the previous messages of posters, particularly when they give an opposing message. So often I find that their opposing message is their one and only post...before or since. ...At least, under that screen-name.

That makes me wonder why they bothered.

Earlier, I read the writings of a fellow who suggests keeping ones eyes closed 24/7 while water-fasting...meditating ON the ailment, 'praying' positive affirmation statements, sipping only enough water to quench thirst, and using ones hands to bring healing energy to the afflicted part.


I don't think I'd water fast...giving up smoking is strenuous enough for me, thank you very much.

But the eyes-closed meditation and 'praying' affirmations I've done please me very much.

It's worth thinking about, I believe.

Another controversial alleviation tool is alcohol. I know some people have wheezing problems (so called "alcohol induced asthma") but I suspect this is caused by other contaminants (high sulfite content for example in wine) and not using it consistently. I've noticed dramatic improvement with consistent use (1-2 glasses per night with higher quality wines, preferably organic and European origin).

Another really great tool for Asthma wheezing or allergies is Niacin. 200-400mg works as well as an allergy pill in my experience. Never need an inhaler when I use Niacin. All the other known goodies like Magnesium also work best in combination.
