Originally, sushi chefs were highly trained, and spent a life time learning to make sushi. Because of the
parasite issue, sushi, although a delicacy, was never considered a safe meal by the Japanese, Japan was a warrior culture, and eating sushi indicated your personal commitment to an honorable life, and to living without fear. We are not talking fear factor here, we are talking an ancient tradition in a society that valued serivce and honor more than an long easy life. Bushido translates as 'To Serve'.
I don't eat any raw fish, ever, frozen or otherwise, it's amazing how a cultural tradition with great meaning gets translated into a fad in another, and people suffer as a result.
Parania is often a very good thing. I really don't need brain worms on top of any other critters I might still be harboring.
