I might be a little concerned.
I'm on day 8 of a
Water Fast and I feel fine. I work five days a week and 7 nights a week and, while not pushing myself to any sweat breakout, have been doing situps and plan to add a very light exercise regimen to ensure I don't get too flabby with the quick weight loss.
Rather than set my sights on a 40 day fast, I am simply taking it one day at a time. I mean, 40 would be great if for no other reason than to finally see numbers on the scale I have not seen in years no matter what I try!
However, I plan to listen to my body. If I get overly hungry I will start breaking the fast. Same if I start feeling exceptionally weak or nasueous. In that scenario, I believe my body would be telling me: Enough. That, and I have to work.
One can always start another fast. You do not have to do a full 40 days to benefit.
