Hi there sweet tooth. I too have always been a
Sugar addict. Ever since I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia 22 years ago, I have stuck to my no
Sugar diet only about 75% of the time. That remaining 35% I have to tell you has really caused HELL for me over the years, along with emotional and other physical stressors.
I was addicted to it like an alcoholic is to alchol.
Since My adrenals and now very likely my Thyroid is greatly impaired ( over the past year) I have not touched one drop of refined
Sugar or refined carbohydrate.
The best advise I could give you is to put your HEALTH as PRIORITY NUMBER ONE, and gleen from what I have told you and been through. It's not worth the few minutes of tasting satisfaction to than later reap all the ill effects it will cause. You think I would have learned that lesson a long time ago. It is very difficult, but since now I am 53 and have a loving husband to take care of and enjoy our company as we grow old, I am now trying to stay healthy for him and that is where the whole weight of the health matter resolves itself.
By the way, if you do have a sweet tooth, I have one dessert that is prefectly GUILT FREE< LOW CARB AND SUGAR FREE< AND HIGH IN PROTEIN.
If you have a food processor, mix in it the following and than scoop out and put into an elegant stemmed dessert glass.
4 or 5 large frozen strawberries
( strawberries are a very low carb fruit )
1 cup of low fat cottage cheese
1 teaspoon of STEVIA or more to taste
( or Splenda, but steveia is better)
2 Tablespoons of low fat cream cheese.
Just whip away for about 2 minutes, it's like having a strawberry Mousse.
