I was talking with my mother-in-law yesterday and we started talking about diet soda (I won't touch the stuff). She mentioned how my husband's ex-wife, who is a nurse, told her about how all the doctors and surgeons said they could tell which patients drank diet soda. They could tell just by touching their skin. One day when in surgery, the doctors were saying, yep, this one patient was one who drank diet soda. So my husband's ex-wife decided to check it out. Sure enough, that patient confirmed they were a diet soda drinker. And she checked with several other patient, too. Diet soda drinkers have skin that feels very leathery, not like healthy skin.

This is a reply to # 1,342,869That is cool info I too have noticed the difference in people's skin I thought it was just diet in general. When I do bodywork for some people and put oil on most people suck it up in seconds and others it puddles the puddle people have really nice skin and eat very clean so really have only seen three people like that (hahaha)

This is a reply to # 1,342,845Find that really odd because I drank diet soda for years and was always told I had the softest skin. My ex also drank it like it was going out of style and his skin was super duper soft.

I don't know. Maybe they don't ID all diet soda drinkers, but when they do come across someone with the leathery skin, those are ones who do drink the diet sodas heavily. It's probably one of those things that isn't all inclusive. Probably are other health issues involved, but most likely an overall habit of bad diet for the leathery skin folks.

why ya think all the soda companies are getting rid of it and switching to stevia derivatives ? My take is that they've finally caught on, after the recent legislative attempts in New Mexico and elsewhere, and are ushering this stuff out, to avoid the usual potential repercussions. The attorney I support drinks Mountain Dew all day long and he is very antisocial and odd. Our old IT guy drank Mountain Dew and he ended up in jail and had emotional problems. Coincidence?

One way to check would be to poll people on the parasites forum and ask how many of them were / are hard core fans of "diet" drinks. I've never had a "diet" anything. - Re: Another scary thing from the sam... trapper/kcmo
