For your information, I get this sickness while living abroad indirectly from depression (Schizophrenia) through subsequent allergy and overdosage of the related-medications ( Risperdal ) and I hope that the information given below will be useful to the intended readers.

As a result, my eyes would seem like blinking all the while to anyone who looks at me and I totally could not drive, look directly and persistently at the pc or tv screens and most of the times, I simply can’t read any books or newspaper properly.

After that, he just ask me to administer an alternative self-therapy of acupressure onto the surface of that acupuncture point for at least 2 hours a day and then consistently for about 2 months.
Basically, the instrutcions that I receive from the acupuncture expert can be generally summarised in such a way that, when the acupuncture point is determined and identified accordingly, the person can then re-open his right hand , and then what the person can do is to sit down, and at the same time press onto the surface of that acupuncture point (using just mild force) with any long blunt-pointed object such as toothpick, a normal writing pen (which is out of ink of course) etc against one's chin (suggested for convenience purpose) for a continuous 2 hours, and it's preferably to do that when the person is about to go to sleep at night (so that he can have more free time to do it). However , if you are eager to find out the very exact location of that particular acupuncture point to further verify the information given above, I would suggest you to seek consultancy from a licensed acupuncturist.
Please be reminded that a good sleep at night throughout the therapy period is essential for the healing to be effectively done. And a person shouldn't associate oneself again with the underlying causes such as over-straining of the eyes, excessive cafeine intake, allergy/overdosage of certain medication (with muscle spasms side effects) that causes this non-stop eyelid-twitching to the particular person in the first place to avoid a relapse of that sickness, especially after getting cured from it.
Having done that persistently for 2 months based on his order, my non-stop eyelid-twitching that makes my eyes blinking all the while just totally recover in time and I can drive, work with the pc screens, watch tv, movies and read as well as work like any other normal persons. Besides, it was also actually a very expensive therapy as it would cost me about 5,000 dollars for each injection therapy session and hence, to keep on spending such huge sums of money to stop my eyelids from twitching would just be very unreasonable.
Whilst the neurosurgeon mentioned to me also about a surgical treatment to effectively cure the non-stop eyelid-twitching, the operation, apart from being very costly, was also actually a very risky one as its failure may very well bring blindness to the persons being operated. My Subsequent Experience With Seroquel After Quiting Risperdal
Note: Advices from medical expert should be sought to establish the authenticity of the following information which is meant as reference materials for the intended readers.
When I switched from Risperdal to Seroquel for the treatment of my Schizophrenia sickness, apart from enabling me to avoid a relapse of the non-stop eyelid-twitching sickness after I get totally cured from it through acupuncture treatment, it helped me also to a very great extent to enable me to have a very good sleep at night. But when I was at work and hence had to refrain myself from taking such medicine so as not to let its drowsiness effect affect my work performance, I just became quite irritable without any known causes or reasons. And over time, I simply needed such medication to help me sleep at night, and to stop becoming irritable or get angry/frustrated very easily without any reasons.About one and a half years ago, I was advised by a pyschiatrist that it was possible for a person to quit Seroquel and then lead a very normal life just like other persons. However, it would take a very strong determination and a great deal of emotional as well as counselling /communication support from the other people to achieve that goal.
For the sleeping issue, one would need to cut down the dosage of the Seroquel drug progressively over a reasonable stretch of time, such as starting from 200mg to 100 mg , and then 2-3 weeks later from 100 mg to 50 mg and finally to physically break up the tablet into separate parts to achieve a much lower dosage to finally reduce and then totally quit the intake of such medication for the particular person. However, since a progressively lower intake of Seroquel dosage would definitely cause difficulties of sleeping to the particular persons, he/she would then need to put in certain extra efforts on their own, such as doing some exercise a few hours ago to get oneself tired before sleeping, reading some really boring novels /watching some really boring TV programmes or even listening to some sentimental/ sleep-inducing musics before getting to sleep.
Next, since Seroquel is meant for the treatment of such sicknesses as bipolar disorders, Schizophrenia symptoms etc, it certainly has its own medicational values as an anti-psychotic drug. Additional Information About Antipsychotics / Neuroleptics :In addition, clinical evidences actually indicate that those troubled with mental disorders, especially the serious ones, shouldn't just rely solely upon the medications as the one and only means of solution to their mental problems.

In a nutshell, medications alone by no means can be a substitute for the positive interpersonal experiences that such patients would eventually need for genuine improvement and recovery of their sanity and the use of them should at the same time be complemented by other psychotherapy efforts to achieve the purpose of holistic healing.

Actually, one thing to take note here is that the chemical imbalance in the brain (especially mood-regulator, Serotonin) leading to the mental disorder is actually caused by disturbances to one's mood in the very first place that might arise as a result of various emotionally unpleasant / unacceptable factors, scenarios, events, persons, surroundings, etc that are considered upsetting, distressing and even traumatic to certain people (resulting thus in disturbances to the normal functionings of neurotransmitter chemical, Serotonin and then such chemical imbalance in the brain). All in all, the question as to whether a person facing or confronting with such emotionally unpleasant / unacceptable factors, scenarios, events, persons, surroundings, etc will eventually suffer from mental disorder or not, that would largely and mostly depend on how good or how bad one is able to tolerate, put up and adapt oneself to all such emotionally unpleasant / unacceptable adversities without getting emotionally disturbed in the end.

In such a connection, their chemical mechanism is such that they would serve to artificially block the negative nerve impulses (negative thoughts, feelings, emotions etc) from getting sent to the brain, and thus temporarily stop a person from getting upset, distressed, depressed etc throughout the effective period of the each drug dosage (that may last for mere hours). In the process of doing so and given the fact that the entire mechanism is purely artificial by drug interception rather than natural, the synaptic activities of the neurons and the neurotrasmitters chemicals especially Serotonin and Dopamine (the neurotransmitter chemical responsible for human bodily movements) etc of the nervous systems would unavoidably be interferred and antagonized in the end.
Subsequently, such a phenomenon would then eventually lead to certain neurological / neuromuscular and in the worst case scenario, the neuro-degenerative symptoms getting developed as the side effects of these drugs for mental disorders. And hence, modern medical science actually tries to overcome such these problems by inventing the more and more advanced versions of the newer and better drugs with ever-decreasing harmful side effects from time to time for the sake of the health cares and well-beings of the ones using them.
At the same time, another thing to take note as well is such that since the human bodies would gradually develop tolerances for any medications, including the ones for mental disorders, and especially the ones that are fed to them repeatedly over the long-term, such medications for mental disorders would hence become addictive themselves whereby larger and larger dosages would gradually be required from time to time to achieve the similar therapeutical effects, and then eventually, they would lose their intended artificial curative effects particularly when they are over-relied upon to the point of sheer abuse whilst no other non-medicational efforts are taken to deal with such mental disorders.
As such, given the ultimately inevitable risks of side effects of such drugs, my opinions are such that the more practical and realistic solution to mental disorders is such that whilst taking the related drugs to curb and bring down the uncontrollable symptoms of mental disorders, such as feelings of deep depressions, deep hallucinations, violent emotional outbursts etc, as well as making the necessary efforts to benefit oneself to the best possible extent from the newer and better drugs with ever-decreasing harmful neurological side effects for such mental disorders which are invented from time to time by the modern medical science, such medications should be used wisely with all the precautionary measures. Whilst at the same time, other non-medicational efforts of emotional and communication supports from the others etc to cheer and brighten up one's mood and spirit as well as the related self-control efforts (to control one's mood and tempers) should thus also be taken at the same time to deal with such mental disorders more effectively towards the goals of gradual improvements as well as final and full recoveries.

In fact most of the neurology-related disorders nowadays are closely connected to the side effects of modern medications especially the Atypical Antipsychotics that carry the side effects of Extrapyramidal Symptoms (EPS), Tardive Dyskinesia (TD) etc that would potentially and eventually disturb the normal functioning of the dopamine receptors (one of the main neurotransmitters / key elements of neurons (nerve cells) in our nervous system essential for the control of human body motions) such as blocking them etc (in carrying out their medical mechanisms to cure certain other sicknesses and unfortunately is also one of the unavoidable side effects of such medications). Later on, I just found out that there were quite a number of people who also suffered from such medication side effects of Extrapyramidal Symptoms, Tardive Dyskinesia etc, especially those working adults who were not so well-to-do and at the same time had a family to support and other miscellaneous financial commitments to bear were actually almost in the same boat as me and their lives were nearly ruined in the end together with the ones closely dependent on them. Continuing taking such problematic medications for depressions to alleviate their mental sicknesses and so as to make them ‘feel better' for the time being at the expense of getting more and more serious side effects of such other bodily damaging sicknesses from such problematic medications later on ? Then what has exactly happened to these patients ? Would it be warranted to conclude that they have been plunged into such a vicious circle of ‘drug addiction' that would ultimately get thier lives ruined in the end if they were to be instructed by their doctors to continue doing so ?
I am less fortunate enough to come from such a less-developed country to have access only to the outdated drugs with greater hazardous side effects whilst the related users of such defective drugs are mostly less medical-conscious and often over-relying on the misleading advices and instructions of the doctors, only to the detriment of their health and well-being in the end. In fact, regardless of the fact that more and more advanced versions of Botox injections and other sophisticated drugs with lesser side effects meant for the treatment of mental disorders and other related illnesses are invented in U.S and other more advanced European countries from time to time, the so-called specialists in my home country which is less-developed would still insist to dispense and apply the outdated drugs for the treatment of such sicknesses knowingly just to save costs and reap more profits from their custormers. In the context of such modern nations as U.S and other developed European nations whereby most of the medical personnel are subject to the strict professional protocol especially in terms of dispensing the medications with potential disastrous side effects to their patients, the medical welfare of this group of people would be greatly ensured in such a case.
Unfortunately, I am just simply one of the many victims of gross negligence of the so-called licensed medical specialists of a less-developed country who care about nothing but the medical fees that I would pay to them in return for such problematic and defective drugs regardless of any bodily damages that these medications have inflicted upon me as visible and readily observable by these group of unethical medical professionals each time I pay regular visits to their practices for 'regular supplies' of such problematic medications.
Next, when such group of related patients in my home country start to have doubts about the disastrous side effects of the antipsychotic medications dispensed regularily to them and actually question the related 'medical experts' about such issues, invariably almost all of these 'professionals' will try to shirk their responsibilities by keeping them in the dark by saying directly 'I don't know what has exactly happened to you as I'm just a psychiatrist and not an eye doctor, chiropractic doctor etc' and they would then refer the related patients to other medical specialists of other fields who would in turn give other misleading diagnosis about their actual neurological / neuromuscular sicknesses to these poor patients (even when those problematic medications are presented face-to-face directly to them in their own practices). All in all, there seems to be a 'tacit conspiracy' between these medical personnel in my home country to work against the medical welfare of these poor patients and to put it bluntly, they are just paying these doctors for those seemingly 'logical and plausible lies' about the actual medical conditions they are having exactly. Next, to further worsen such a pathetic situation, my home country tends to become a 'dumping ground' all the while for decades for the outdated medications with greater unwanted side effects from such modern nations as U.S and other advanced European countries.

As a brief summary for the prior posts made above, I get this abnormally rapid non-stop eyelid twitching in the very first place due to the dopamine-disturbing side effect of Risperdal that, together with other related medications, which account for most of the so-called 'undiagnosed' neurological movement and neuromuscular disorders.
In my case, since it is the 'Risperdal toxin' which accumulates mostly around my eye nerves that cause all the abnormal, involuntary, uncontrollable, purposeless and non-stop rapid eyelid twitchings. As such, the acupuncture treatment (as mentioned in the prior posts above) administered onto my "He Gu" acupuncture point actually works in a way that it would gradually purge such 'Risperdal toxin' that cause all the 'unexplained' twitchings and spasms' out of the nerves around my eyes and enable me to get totally cured once and for all from this sickness in the end.
Next, such a mechanism about the acupuncture therapy mentioned above is what has been elaborated to me by the acupuncturist who deal with my eyelid twitching sickness. Personally, I feel that such an explanation sounds rather logical and reasonable to me.

In the case of prolonged neuromuscular eyelid twitchings, since it is the dopamine-disturbing substances / other 'contaminating agents' that disturb the eyes nerves and cause all the unwanted twitchings, spasms, tics etc, getting rid of them from the eyes nerves /related nerves around the particular organ having the twitchings would then naturally, reasonably, logically and obviously be the most clear-cut, direct and straightforward way of curing such a neurological / neuromuscular sickness.
Unfortunately, in terms of the formal mainstream western medical Science (in contrast to such alternative therapies as acupuncture etc), the particular technology of administering direct and effective treatments onto the peripheral nerves around a particular area of muscles having certain neurological movements / neuromuscular disorders (in order to cure them effectively) simply has not yet been found/invented/developed/discovered by the modern medical Science of the formal western medication.

When the acupuncture point is identified and marked accordingly, you can then re-open your hand , and then what you all can do is to sit down, and at the same time press that onto the surface of that acupuncture point (using just mild force) with any long blunt-pointed object such as toothpick, a normal writing pen (which is out of ink of course) etc against your chin (suggested for convenience purpose) for a continuous 2 hours (during any time in a day), and it's preferably to do that when you are about to go to sleep at night (so that you have more free time to do it).However , if you are eager to find out the very exact location of that particular acupuncture point to further verify the information given above, I would suggest you to seek consultancy from a licensed acupuncturist.
Next, about the question of how would one know that he / she is applying the blunt-pointed instrument-aided pressure at the right point (the "He Gu" acupuncture point), well, the nerves of our bodies especially the ones closely adjacent to each other, would tend to interwind, overlap and interconnect among one another. To a very great extent, I do agree with your medical reasoning.In such critical chronic cases of degenerative neurological / nervous disorders which involve permanent damages of the cerebrum / Celebral Cortex and Central nervous systems /other brain-related damages as Chorea, Celebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Alzheimers / Senile Dementia, Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) / Mad cow disease, Parkinsonism, chronic epilepsy/ brain seizures / etc for which there are permanent losses of brain masses / sensory / motor neurons and what you have described as 'malfunctioning in the basal ganglia area of the brain', no 100 % definite cure would be available (in whatsoever cases) in such scenarios due to the underlying fact that neurons / nerve fibres / brain cells cannot regenerate themselves in that when they are totally damaged / destroyed / lost, they are gone forever.
As such, in the cases described above there would hardly be any nerve impulses that would be able to be smoothly and perfectly sent from the brain to direct / result in any bodily movements / motions in the naturally smooth and totally unimpeded ways in the cases as explained above.

However, in the case of so-called 'secondary blepharospasm' that you have mentioned in your reply, such kind of disorder in most cases actually doesn't involve direct damages of / to the brains / central nervous systems and permanent damages / losses of the motor/ sensory neurons like the chronic cases I have explained above. In such a connection, if the neurons / nerve cells (the cells that are specialized to conduct nerve impulses from the brain to conduct / control the human body movements/motions) actually do not suffer any serious / permanent / irrepairable damages but instead have just their normal functionings of conducting such nerve impulses from the brain disturbed by the other substances that antagonize the neurotransmitters (such as dopamine / serotonin / acetylcholine) comprised in them (the neurons / nerve cells) , a cure from acupuncture to get rid of such neurotransmitter-blocking/disturbing substances (that antagonize the neurotransmitter ) from the related peripheral nerves around the muscles would be available (such as the one I have suggested for Tardive Dyskinesia-induced eyelid-twitching). And please bear in mind that as long as the neurons / nerve fibres/ brain cells / central nervous system (which is made up mainly of the brain and spinal cord) do not suffer any damages/disorders, neurotransmitters (the key elements of neurons) can always be renewed, generated and secreted (by the neurons).In fact among the eyelid-twitching / eye-blinkng cases that I have observed in my real life and the ones aired over the internet, I just find out and deduce from such related posts that lots of such people would tend to have this so-called 'secondary blepharospasm' problem (otherwise they would have faced great cognitive difficulties to get their problems articulately accounted over the internet and at the same time, suffered from other far more serious neurological complications apart from the blepharospasm alone).

Actually as a social worker working for the healthcare and benefits of the others, I do hope that such a saddening scenario of the various exploitations of basic medical rights that are denied to certain 'underprivileged' individuals due to 'imperfect information', ignorance on the part of the patients, geographical differences (modern vs less-developed nations), deliberate exploitation by certain profit-driven individuals who have lesser or no regard at all for medical ethics and human lives etc, would come to an end one day. Given below is another excerpt of my reply to the other party giving additional details about my healing experience from such chronic eyelid-twitching / eye-blinking sickness and I hope that the information given will again be useful to the intended readers. Thank you.

Actually you really reminded me of the several diagnoses given to me by some of the doctors, especially the general practioners from whom I had desperately sought repeated treatments during the initial stages for my prolonged chronic rapid eyelid-twitching/eye-blinking sickness and as a matter of fact, all of them just told me that such a 'visually incapacitating' symptom was purely stress-induced and it would just automatically 'go away' when my life / I would come to be less-stressful one day. In the end, almost all of them just gave me such medications as eye drops, neurobions, vitamin/mineral pills and numerous anti-muscle-spasm pills/injections for my incessantly rapid twitching eyelids / eye-blinkings.
Unfortunately, they all turned out to be completely helpless in coping with my rapid eyelid-twitching / eye-blinking sickness. And kindly be informed that I had quited my job by the time I sought most of the medical treatments from them and there's simply no way that my life was 'stressful' by that time (I took plenty of rest at home during that 'jobless' period).
Actually when these 'normal treatments' turned out to be futile while the medical MRI & CT scanning simply showed no signs of brain / central nervous systems / neurons / brain cells damages at all (as a matter of fact, such movement disorders caused purely by bodily chemical imbalaces due to disturbances to the impulse-relaying chemical agents - neurotransmitters -such as acetylcholine, dopamine, serotonin etc which are produced by the neurons / nerve cells, simply could not be revealed / observable / diagnosed through such medical scanning examinations alone - please refer to : Primary Vs Secondary Blepharospasm), the related medical experts just labelled the sickiness as 'undiagnosable' and instead just referred me to a neurosurgeon who eventually gave me Botox injections to temporarily half-paralyse my eyelid muscles to deal with the rapid eyelid-twitchings / eye-blinkings.
In your case, I should say that you are far luckier than me to get such eyelid-twitching / eye-blinking problem solely due to stress which in turn will just 'go away' by itself when your life turns out to be less stressful one day.
Whereas, in my case for which the chronic eyelid-twitching / eye-blinking that is due to neurological side effects of medications (which antagonize the neurotransmitters in the nervous system), it would simply require some far larger efforts and one's willingness to try anything (all the alternative therapies like acupuncture, massage, chiropractic etc) as well as some 'chance and luck' to eventually get it totally healed (otherwise there wouldn't be so many people complaining about such a chronic sickness which have remained uncured for these people for a number of years both over the internet and in real life).
As such, by posting articles about my healing experiences for such a prolonged chronic 'visually incapacitating' sickness of rapid eyelid-twitching / eye-blinking over the internet, I hope that I will eventually be able to reach out to more and more such needy people elsewhere and anywhere so that they will somehow at least get a cue and some relevant ideas about the probable causes and ways of dealing with their like-sicknesses.

As a matter of fact, I have received 3 therapy sessions of Botox injections from a neurosurgeon for my chronic medication-induced involuntary uncontrollable non-stop rapid eyelid-twtiching / eye-blinking at a very exorbitant cost of U.S 5000 dollars each from an expensive private medical centre located in my home country (one of the less-developed ones in Asia) before I have actually got it gradually and totally cured once and for all in the end through acupuncture treatment (an alternative-instrument-aided self-administered one as mentioned in one of the prior posts made in this website).
The remark below is a quotation from someone else :
'Long-term therapy with botulinum toxin is sometimes associated with therapy failure following repeated injections of the neurotoxin, presumably due to specific antibody production.'
My reply :
Well, the general medical rule is such that human body would tend to get used / immunized to whatever similar medications fed to it over the long-term in such a way that when such immunization actually takes place, the recipients of such medications would then not be able to respond in the 'effectively intended' way to acquire the desired medical effects from such medications. So, I think that's the reason why Botox would fail in the case you have described.
Frankly speaking, I have never considered Botox injections to be a permanently conclusive and totally practical cure for such chronic non-stop eyelid-twitching / eye-blinking and other Hemifacial Spasms disorders.
In regard of Botox injections for eyelid twitching problem / Hemifacial Spasms, such toxin-based medication would just serve to sort of 'half-paralyse' the eyelid / facial muscles to reduce such twitchings / tics without being able to do anything curative to the problematic nerves around the non-stop twitching eyelid / facial muscles that cause such muscle-twitchings / tics problems. Besides, each Botox injection would work for just 3-6 months and after that one would very probably need to get another injection one after another indefinitely in regard of such a treatment to continue to get the similar muscle-paralysing healing effects.
Next, in regard of the Botox injections applied onto the facial muscles, one would very likely develop such undesired side effects as paralysed facial muscles, droopy eyelids (in certain cases) etc when one gets such Botox injections over the long-term after quite a number of years.
Subsequently, even though newer and newer versions of Botox injections composed possibly with different combinations of medical contents would tend to be invented from time to time nowadays to overcome such 'immunization effects' of the ones of the older versions received regularly by its regular users, I am nevertheless in the opinion that such a group of persons are actually running a risk of suffering eventually from the potentially unknown side effects of such different versions of Botox medications, which can be really disastrous when the side effects of such medications just 'manifest all of a sudden'.

Next, that's exactly the healing and curative benefits that I had acquired and subsequently the ones having the similar eyelid-twitching problems in my real life and to whom I recommended such alternative instrument-aided self-administered acupuncture method (which involves the use of a blunt-pointed object such a normal writing pen which is out-of-ink etc and pressing using just mild force onto the very surface of that acupuncture point, and hence is safe-and-convenient-to-apply considering every single aspect of the methodology) had also get cured and carried on living a normal life getting back everything they lost previously due to such debilitating sickness especially their jobs to continue earning a living to survive on and provide a decent life for their families.
All in all, my opinion is such that it's always better to solve any problems once and for all by dealing directly with their root causes rather than through indefinitely indirect methods of 'interceptions' that will be potentially hazardous over the long-term for the ones suffering from them.

Well, human bodies would tend to get immune to any medications especially the ones fed to them repeatedly from time to time, including Botox , and that's most probably the very reason why it didn't work.
Anyway, Botox injections are actually composed mainly of Botulinum toxin that are in fact medical derivatives from Clostridium botulinum bacterium (which causes botulism) that have been intentionally abused before for the purpose of chemical warfare owing to its intense toxicity.
