I don't understand why my kombucha tastes like medicine and has no fiz anymore. I'm about to throw it all away so I looked in here and found your advice about ditching the mother and just using the baby. That's the thin film on the bottom, right?
Watching this video made it look easy to just plop the whole thing in each time. This guy keeps his mother and his looks good.
The temperature is too cold. I forgot about that. I'll find a heating pad.
The new layer seemed to be on the bottom. The tops were thick and hard.
Most of them were brown and ugly from the tea (like stained) on the bottom and I threw them away.
So the thick shiny top is the baby?
