Finally, 10 years after my initial misdiagnosis of early onset menopause, my records were reviewed and I was told that I have PCOS. PolyCystic Ovaries Syndrome. The doctor wishes to treat this with an insulin reducing med called Glucophage. I do not agree and asked for natural alternatives. So, now I need to go back on a low carb diet and we will reevaluate progress in a couple of months. Thing is that the last time, this diet caused me to be constipated. I did lose weight and feel better otherwise. So, could anyone comment on the pros/cons of low carb eating as regards to colon health or really any experience would help. I really don't want to take the medication, the side effects look daunting as well as not wanting to tax my liver.
Any info/input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Laura
