Yeah, I suggest you do as JAB recommends and try distilled water.
I cannot answer for home made silver or products other than Utopia Silver as to taste, but their silver has just the faintest of metallic tastes and reminds me very much of the well water we used to draw up in a bucket from deep in the well and then drink out of a tin cup or ladle.
Of course, that was back when I was young and before dirt was invented.

If the brain needs a boost, colloidal gold may be your answer! I know you were mostly joking, but I'm not - colloidal gold improves both mood and focus for many people, including yours truly, and gold has been proven to boost IQ levels in actual studies.

I have never really seen a definitive guide. I take a tablespoon or two myself.

I only take a teaspoon or two of colloidal gold daily, and a bit more silver (a lot more silver if I feel a bug trying to come along).
If you want to save money on your colloidal silver, get yourself a good home generator such as the Silver Bullet from CureZone sponsor Utopia Silver (use the CZ discount code of LR001 to get a 15% discount) or else a Silver Puppy or other good brand).
I am not a big fan of MMS - I think it is too harsh for some folks and that there are other better options in most instances.
I suggest you try oleader extract both internally and in condensed form as part of an extrernal skin creme, perhaps mixing it with colloidal silver and from time to time with iodine as well. You can make both yourself very inexpensively. See:
Here is a very good site for skin cancer information:

BTW, to help with forgetfullness and mental focus, get plenty of omega 3's and try not only colloidal gold but also Naicin/naicinamide, curcumin, pomegranate juice and grapeseed extract.
