Ok folks need help. Tonight I have the recurrence of the scrotum parasite. This time I cannot ignore the obvious. All the symptoms point to Filiarisis. I spent time in South Africa, Kenya and Australia within the last few years. The problem is in the sac and down through the mid part of my legs. These things feel like they are very thin- thread like but long. The activity starts around 10PM. The tips are distinct and yes (no straight jacket needed) I feel like there is a stinging/biting sensation on the ends. I could go on ... In the sac, there is the sensation of curled up moving threads. I am compelled now to get that appointment with a urologist. This has happened at least four times in the past. Tonight is the most blatent. If I had an MD with his fingers on this, he/she would freak out.
I feel other smaller versions of this in different places. Including my left ear lobe extending down into my neck, across my nose and in my right arm. When I manipulate one say in the nose, it seems I get a sensation from the others. This is very much like what I have experienced already a couple of times before. I do not see what med/supp I might have taken that would explain the stimulation.
For the record, I have never been diagnosed with a Psych condition. I am thinking I should go ahead and find a uroligist/parasitoligist in my area. The sensations I am mentioning are easy to see - in my scrotum. I have felt this several times tonight. I was thinking VLM of either Toxocariasis (I had a dog for years) or T. Solium cystercicosis - but everything I find points to Filiariasis. The symptoms are there right now. It is hard to convey what it is like to feel this in my most private of places. I guess it is time to spend some money on tests. The "scalp" sensations I have written about are present as well. Just not as distinct. I really can feel and see a mass of thread like things moving around in the scrotum extending down towards the anus into my upper legs. The thread like feeling is distinct and can be traced - it is a little unnerving.

The diagnosis is made by identifying microfilariae on a Giemsa stained thick blood film. Blood must be drawn at night, since the microfilaria circulate at night, when their vector, the mosquito, is most likely to bite.
There are also PCR assays available for making the diagnosis.

The recommended treatment for killing adult filarial worm for patients outside the United States is albendazole (a broad spectrum anti-helminthic) combined with ivermectin.[4][2] A combination of diethylcarbamazine (DEC) and albendazole is also effective.[2]
In 2003 it was suggested that the common Antibiotic doxycycline might be effective in treating elephantiasis.[5] The parasites responsible for filariasis have a population of symbiotic bacteria, Wolbachia, that live inside the worm. When the symbiotic bacteria are killed by the antibiotic, the worms themselves also die. Clinical trials in June 2005 by the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine reported that an 8 week course almost completely eliminated microfilariaemia.[6][7]

This is a reply to # 1,302,470In 1993, the International Task Force for Disease Eradication declared lymphatic filariaisis one of six potentially eradicable diseases.[2] Studies have demonstrated that transmission of the infection can be broken when a single dose of combined oral medicines is consistently maintained annually for approximately seven years.[8] With consistent treatment, the reduction of microfilariae means the disease will not be transmitted, the adult worms will die out, and the cycle will be broken.[8]

This is a reply to # 1,302,265Hi Standout4U. These are curious sensations indeed. I have run into others who have felt this as well, but these guys are in the fringe areas like morgellions\Lyme.
I know someone who does have flariasis and don't remember her complaining of movement. These are microscopic, very small organisms. Some people have them all their lives and never have symptoms---many South Americans.
There are some nerve conditions that mimic these sensations, but you seem quite certain that these have a sort of intelligent movement to them.
If a parasite could get into the genitals, it would, because it is ideal for transmission.
If it is a type of worm, it would be zoonotic for sure. I don't recall any thing like this in human cases.
You don't have any skin eruptions right?

I have been searching on "moving worms" and have found a couple of case reports that seem to mimic what I am experiencing. I am going to go back to the doc because there is actually a growing mass inside that you can feel (it definitely should not be there). It feels like rolled up steel thread. Last time I noticed them, it felt like a steel thread that extended down into the back of my legs. The ER doc thought I could have been feeling nerves, and had a reaction to the anti-histamine I had taken. Over the last few days, it is almost like they are moving into the scrotum. Now I am feeling several threads down into the back of both legs. I also noticed on the high back of my leg a scar. It is slightly indented and about four inches long with square patterns down the length of the indention. There is another one beside it that is two inches long. I remember seeing them there a few years ago, but they were much much smaller like 1 inch and 1/2 inch long. I noticed because I was feeling the thread down by them. If it wasn't for the growing mass (which has appeared over the last three days) I would have to consider that these threads might be some kind of nerve disorder and not parasite. And the sensation in the eye and the scalp continue. I also have had intermittent bouts of nausea today. Sparganosis and Filiaria are the two that keep popping up as likely possibilities. Also this is day 5 post Albendazole treatment.
Since you can actually feel the masses now, and they have definetly grown considerably, I am ready to take my case back to my family doc tomorrow. I will look into the infectious disease specialist first in case I can get a same day appointment.

i think plain x-rays will show parasites as like white areas. somebody else on here, maybe smuse also suggested a plain x-ray
but obviously its not gonna help with what type of parasite

This is a reply to # 1,302,723Shroom- they are more apparent at night. I felt the sensation first time October 31 - a few days after I started the herb combo. Slight sensastion periodically since. Since I stopped the Albendazole - very noticeable any time I manipulate them, and biting sensation from time to time especially at night.

Its interesting how your symptoms have escalated with these new treatments. Maybe they are dying a hard death?
Ideas: Why not shave down there so that there is no hair follicles for critters to take up residence. Reduce body oils and moisture in those parts. Dry off those nether regions with a hand held hair dryer.
Why also not invest in a magnetic pulser and blast the area locally.
Probably too sensitive an area to dab iodine?

This is a reply to # 1,302,813Standout4U, I did a bit of searching. I would not mention this, except for the fact you have spent some time in Africa. There is a parasite, which does some of the things you describe.
I really hate to add more stressful scenarios, but the Guinea worm can transport in the subepithelium. It is also long enough to fit your descriptions.
But, there are other symptoms which don't match at all, like burning sensations.
The fact that creatures like this do exist, means there could be unknowns that infect humans on rare occasions.
I would suggest microscopic exam of blood as a must. There might be clues there, that an expert could spot.
Are you doing albenazole under medical advisement? Sorry, I forgot. Shroom
