I am finding it is a bit of a maze trying to navigate through what you can and can't take. What interacts/counter-acts this that and the other. Then there are those salesmen in the Vitamin Shoppe who will tell you the doggone wildest tales you have ever heard in your life. I like the Vitamin Shoppe, but sometimes I wonder if some of these folks are serious.
Candida diet basics: no
Sugar (simple or refined), almost to no carbs, no caffeine/alcohol, and of course no yeast products. Yes there is much more to it than that, like it is ok to eat fish UNLESS you are mercury toxic/sensitive ad infinitum of what I was just rambling about last paragraph. I am violating it as we speak. This is going to be the hard part for me.
I look for the "BASICS" that form whatever it is I am going after. That is why I knew this diet was going to be hard for me. Then it is a matter of sifting through a lot of differing opinions and what works for you.
One more opinion out there is that you probably only have to do the strict candida diet for a period of time (opinions on the time differ too). Then there are those who say the diet has to now be your lifestyle, and after a long period you can occasionally cheat as long as you take protective measures.
Good Luck
