I had my merina for just over a month. When my period started last week my left side was hurting sooo bad. It hurt to the point I can feel it in my bone! The doctor put me on Antibiotics then pain meds after I complained more. I felt better for a few days now I am hurting again! Only on my left side! I have 3 children and my husband has one. He says get it out. He says that Im moody and irritable. Can anyone tell me why my left side would hurt? I'm so glad that this site is here! None of the stuff the doctor gave me said any of this! His words were that it was so great that every woman should have one! I'm just worried. And so is my husband. The doctor that loves it so much won't even talk to me know his nurse is. and no straight answers. I just want answers. and after reading all this I will probly have it taken out! call every hour on the hour, get your records, let them know that they said you can have it out any time you wanted it out. i know they said that, they say it to everyone then they ignore you when you have complaints, i wouldn't believe it if it didn't have to me.
when you call ask for your records
ask to be referred to a better doctor
ask for pain meds
ask have they ever been sued
tell them you don't need it anymore
most women get theirs removed when the husband gets a vasectomy, they lied to you i would lie to them. i know it hurts to be ignored by the doctor that suppose to help you.
i still have left side pain but i think its in my intestines cause i just had an ultrasound and they said everything looked fine.

MoreThis is a reply to # 1,285,646this might seem cold. get the mirena out!!!! husbands are only supportive for so long. mirena destroyed my marriage. on the verge of getting divorced here because of the side effects of mirena. i have three wonderful children, had a wonderful husband that was supportive for a long time. then he got tired of me not being well because of mirena. i never even thought of mirena causing my problems, the doctor blamed it on post partum depression. dont know what causes the pain on the left side but i had it too. the side effects only get worse. your doctor probably"forgot" to mention how good the kickbacks are that he gets for every mirena inserted and the longer you keep it the more money he gets. you pay a doctor for a service, i think they forget that.

This is a reply to # 1,285,712I just had surgery to get my Mirena out. I went to the doctor because of the pain that I was having on my right side and because of other issues as well. After two failed procedures in the office to remove it my doctor scheduled surgery. Come to find out it was embedded in my uterus on my right side. Get it out!! I had mine for two years and they last year was terrible. I feel wonderful now after only two weeks.
