PTree, did I understand that you know about/do colonics? I am about to go take care of my grandma who is 85 and suddenly in a health crisis--phlebitis. THe dr. gave her medicine for it of course, but she feels that her real problem is that she has had serious constipation problems for many years (needing to use a syringe or laxative to get any movement at all, and that very small)and is sure she is all "Bound up" to use her words. She is totally miserable. Also now seems to have a hard time keeping food down. She's a small lady and can't afford to lose any more weight.

My question--would a colonic be safe for her? She is about to start an herbal parasite cleanse and bowel cleanse, but with this crisis I'm wondering if it might not be a good idea to try clean some of that old stuff out immediately by colonic irrigation (of which I know little) in order that she doesn't get more plugged up.

Please give me some recommendations here to consider.
