Paint Lady, I just found your post and thought I would reply here so you will see it.
I have not yet read the part in Clark's book about alcoholism. All I know I learned in AA and they teach that the only answer is to not drink it. AA says that it is an allergic reaction to alcohol and that it is a progressive disease. I have had success with abstaining from alcohol for ten years, as of last Saturday. I would beg to differ with what ever Clark has to say, IF she suggests that it will ever be all right for an alcoholic to drink. But let's not even go there! :)

MoreThis is a reply to # 127,619No she says for an alcholic to avoid all alchol. Not even to use it to clean with. But she also holds out hope that the allergy might be curable via getting rid of some specific parasites and toxins. I think that what she is offering is hope that the lure might be gone, not that it then becomes okay to drink. I certainly wouldn't risk it. That would be like me going and buying a bunch of gormet coffees just to taste them. No way I could resist having more till I was totally drinking all of it again.

*LOL* I am just thinking that if some alkies read her book they will sure take it the wrong way and try to drink again. (This is part of the mentality of alcoholics.) I know people that would! I am not one of them. You are wise about the coffee thing.....I used to drink so many different flavors and brands. I had a whole cupboard full of coffee. Some where along the line, I got off that and now when I want a cup I have Taster's Choice, Instant. It is probably full of bad things. Maybe I should just drink brewed coffee? Which is the lesser of the two evils, do you know ? Thanks for your post.

This is a reply to # 127,657Roasted Dandelion tea. Tastes and smells similiar to coffee, had no caffein and is good for your liver and kidney:) It's probably going to be my new thing. Will drive the coffee addict inlaws nuts. Wait till I take my tea bags to the resteraunt to drink after my meal.
