Hi tkb,
There are so many possible causes of body odor that it's very difficult to determine whether the source of your problem is localized fungal or bacterial infections in the mouth, underarms, feet, groin, and/or gut, or whether you have a metabolic condition. It may very well be a combination of these.
Why don't you tell us a little of what part of your body your odor is coming from, what you have done to try to control it, obviously without success,, and what you think your odor smells like.
You might want to read some of the posts we have written on my blog http://mpdela.blogspot.com/. You might find that using the 'Search posts through Labels' function to help you get to the information that you think might pertain to you.
Keep in touch, and let us know more about you. Sorry I took so long to reply, but i've been out of town.

Hello youngsoul,
I am glad that you've come to the right place to get help on halitosis, or fbb. Have you gone to the dentist yet to see if your teeth and gums are healthy? If so, then you might consider other sources of fbb so that you can best determine the best management protocol for it. Is your odor coming only from your breath or from other parts of your body as well?
I recommend that you read some of the articles I've posted in my blog on halitosis, http://mpdela.blogspot.com/search/label/halitosis. I hope they do help you. I'm certain that you will still have many questions after reading all this information, so please do feel free to ask them in this forum. I'll be looking for them, as I know others here will also be around to guide you along as well.
It is important that you control this odor so that you can enjoy your life and continue with your studies. Your family is probably concerned about your depression and might find it more important to help you not focus on your breath as much as just living your life to its fullest. Or, perhaps, they might not smell your odor. In either case, you do well trying to find solutions to your odor, and management protocols to help you reduce or eliminate your odor so that you may find it a pleasant experience to stay in school.
Wishing you the very best,
María
My pleasure tkb,
For fecal body odor, look under 'fecal body odor' in the 'Search posts through Labels' in my blog, http://mpdela.blogspot.com/search/label/fecal%20body%20odor
One important thing to consider is that alot of the odor, including fecal body odor, sometimes comes from a microflora imbalance in your gut. See see the video http://mpdela.blogspot.com/2008/07/video-introduction-to-probiotics.html
the following posts, http://mpdela.blogspot.com/2008/06/causes-of-intestinal-dysbiosis-review.html,

Hi 10499,
There are ways to control some of the things you are talking about, and there may not be a 'cure' to some conditions of BO. The problem with some antibiotic treatment is that is may throw off balance the normal microecosystem of your gut and mouth. It could create an overgrowth of candidas, or of some of the bad bacteria that normally lives in these places but is kept in check by the good bacteria. If this were your cause of odor, then you are very lucky. All you would need to do is to clean out your intestines until you get a one-time diarrhea and then replace it with probiotics. You can get probiotics at any health food store and whole foods market like Wild Oats. You can also get it online as long as you don't let it sit outside in very hot places. First take double the dose recommended in the box for about 2 days, and then just one a day.
For your mouth odor, you can get a tongue scraper at your local drug store and scrape off any excess mucous off your tongue that your body produces when there is an infection. I always brush my tongue after brushing my teeth as well. There's a relatively new over-the-counter product that seems to somewhat help called Oraljel anti-bacterial bleeding gum rinse, that is very good at preventing and treating oral infections.
Try these 2 management protocols to see if you get some relief.
Yes, your diet is not good...I know you're a teenager, but do try to eat more fruits and vegetables and less red meat :) Ideally, don't eat red meat. The diet is the tricky part because some people get odor from sweets, others from foods rich in choline like fish, red meats, broccoli, coliflower, beans, and others don't do well with dairy. Not everyone is the same. It would require a trial and error type of test on your part.
I'm glad your doctor will be treating your gastritis. You must try to bring down your stress level with some quiet time every now and then to relax yourself. Stress produces excessive sweating which can increase odor. Just find peace in your life as much as possible. Peace being inside of you - that's where you have to find it and nurture it.
Let me know how it goes for you.

Hi 104990,
I'm sorry I haven't written sooner; I hadn't seen this post somehow.
Since there are many sources of odor, such as an imbalance of the micro-organisms in your gut, in the back of your tongue, and possibly even some metabolic enzyme deficiencies, just addressing one of the sources and not another is not going to solve your odor problem.
My son and other people have done a odor-management protocol recommended by the National Institute of health (NIH) that has helped them become odor-free in a few months time, but it works only if you do it exactly as it's supposed to be done. It first addresses the need to clean your gut with a good cleansing diet until you have a diarrhea (once only). You might want to see a post I just did earlier today here in CureZone, http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=1280883 in which I explain it a little better. After you have cleansed your intestines well, you would need to really start a double dose of probiotics for a few days, and then the recommended daily dose. This will get rid of the old bad bacteria overgrowth, and replace it with the good balance of the micro-ecosystem of the gut.
Then you would have to eat a good diet to prevent it from building up again. The NIH recommends that people who have an enzyme deficiency odor-producing condition called TMAU to avoid foods that have a certain type of protein called choline. Choline is found in foods rich in choline include eggs, liver, kidney, peas, beans, peanuts, soya products, and brassicas (Brussels sprouts, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower), including rapeseed products such as oil, fish oil, and flour. That is not to say that you cannot have any choline whatsoever, because you are supposed to have up to 425mg/day of you're a female and 500mg/day if you're a male.
Read these websites published by the US government (NIH) as a guideline:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/bookshelf/br.fcgi?book=gene&part=trimethylami...
http://rarediseases.info.nih.gov/GARD/QnA.aspx?PageID=4&CaseID=20839&...
and http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/Data/Choline/Choline.pdf You can skip the 1st 7 pages of this introduction, and go the the chart. Look at he column that says Total Cho (Total Choline), and that's what you guide yourself by.
If you email me at [email protected] , and I can give you a few attachments of some excerpts of this chart that my son and I compiled to help him select foods with their choline content that are more attractive to young people.
I don't know if you are a man or a woman, but if you are a woman, your menstrual cycle (hormonal changes) also increase your odor for those days.
I know I gave you alot of stuff to read, but if you want to discuss this with other sufferers so that you can ask all the questions you want, we hold a women's conference call this coming Wednesday at 9:00p.m. Eastern Standard Time, if you're a young lady you can join us since we discuss some of these women issues like menstrual cycles. If you are a young man, we hold the general conference call this Sunday at 2:00p.m./EST. We've been holding these calls for months now and they are very informative. The call is free if calling from the United States if you have a free long distance plan. The number is 712-432-1620 then type in the acess code 391629#. YOU DON'T HAVE TO TALK if you don't want to, you can just listen, or you can ask all the questions you want.
Best of luck,
María
