History
I have had a cracked upper premolar 1st Bicuspid Canadian #24 (us #12??) since February this year. This teeth has never had any cavities nor any root canals, etc. The crack appeared immediately after I broke the right upper premolar Canadian number 14(US #5??) exactly on the opposite side in half during a weekend, the broken half was glued back to the upper right premolar by the dentist the next day. So far that tooth is okay although I am afraid to chew on that side too. I may have to have that removed in future. But the upper left premolar has a sharp pain which lasts only a second when I happen to bite on the cusp, not all the time, perhaps once or twice when I am eating and happen to bite on something hard even though I am very careful when eating that I do not chew food on that side. The dentist said that if I felt the pain other times than chewing and it lasted more than 5 minutes than I should go back to him and if I did not want
root canals then I should have the teeth extracted. I went to another dentist for a second opinion, he suggested having a crown but would not guarantee that the pain would not be felt. I told him I was not interested in a crown.
I have been diligently oil swishing, gargling with salt water, packing both teeth with Dr. Christopher’s tooth powder twice a day (most of the time I end up swallowing it). But the sharp pain when biting on the cusp still persists.
My concern is, is it harmful to keep a cracked teeth in your mouth? Am I exposing myself to infection because of the crack? And I am afraid that if I forget to avoid chewing on that side I may end up having a broken tooth and/or more complications in future? I cannot go on avoiding chewing on that side for ever…
Should I have this premolar extracted? My dentist sends patients to a dental surgeon who only does extractions and his office seems to be aware of cavitations as well. Although this tooth is not a wisdom tooth and there has not been any cavities or
root canals done on it, should I still ask him to do the cavitation? I do not know how much he will charge. They are not very forthcoming as far as price is concerned and he will charge me consultation fee even though I know what tooth it is, have all x rays, including a panaromic.
Also, his office told me that they will give me some medication to take after the extraction? What kind of medication is given after extraction? I hope it is not
Antibiotics ….
And how can I prepare for before and after the extraction for healing? I have homemade
Colloidal Silver (I do not know how good it is), terminator zapper (though I have no clue as to how to zapp for tooth healing), activated charcoal capsules, clove oil, Dr. Christopher tooth powder, oil of oregano, grey and
Green Clay powder, cayenne pepper powder, also a very large magnet block, Lugol’s Iodine, Grapefruit Extract, etc. at home.
I am not thinking what to do after the extraction to close the gap but hope it will not show too much if I do not open my mouth too wide.
Thank you
