Did I say America is perfect? Did I call it a blissful eden? No.
Did I say George Bush is great? No.
Where do I live? In the USA. Yes, we have many problems.
However, I still have a roof over my head, food in my belly, live in a safe neighborhood, go to church publicly, books to read, internet access, a great family, etc. True, there are many socialists who want to take most of those things away from me.
I'm not happy with the illegals entering the country! No way!
Katrina shows what people get when they are dumb enough to live in such a place! Below sea level! And stubborn enough to go back after a disaster! The government really shouldn't even bail people out of that type of situation but just let the free market take over. And there's no point in blaming W for a storm hitting our country! Perhaps Bush has been preventing a gigantic earthquake like they had in China recently?
People die when you have military conflict. No surprise there. Should we be over there?! You hear both sides on that, but either way, each life is precious, no matter the nationality or religion. But far less US soldiers have died in Iraq than get killed in major cities each year. And FAR less than people who are murdered by their own mothers each year! THAT concerns me greatly.
9/11. Tragic. Inside job? Allowed? Maybe.
But I want to point out that, as "bad" as things are, there are many similarly bad things, or even worse bad things, happening around the globe! We get so focused on our own country that it skews our focus. Bad things happen everywhere. Not to mention, the media of our technology age brings more things to our awareness and makes them seem even bigger.
A million mothers murdering their own children every year -- that doesn't make the 11 o'clock news, but that is a far greater tragedy than any of the other things you've mentioned.
I'd probably rate George W as "Mediocre" on a scale from "Horrible-Bad-Mediocre-Good-Great".
Anyway, I really just wanted to say that, regardless of W's acts in office, a good chunk of what he receives blame for is actually other people's responsibility.
