Just as general purpose information/advice that tends to come from orthodoxy as well as alternative practitioners alike, if the blood-like stuff in stools is bright red, this indicates (operative word - indicator, not a 100 percent definite, just an indicator) that there may be bleeding that is occurring, like, now, this moment, ongoing, and as such, somewhere near the exit bowel/colon (rectum). It may be in your interest to investigate why you are bleeding from the bottom end. This is not all bad news. There are often times fairly benign reasons why people are bleeding from the bottom end, namely hemorrhoids or something along those lines.... fissures .... tears. These can exist anywhere, starting at or near the anus, and all the way back into the farther reaches of the bowels and further. However, as a general guideline (not 100 percent, but a guideline), if the source of blood in stools is from deeper into the bowels, like, towards the upper end of large intestines or perhaps even into the small intestines, chance are good that by the time the bloody stuff is passed, it will no longer be bright red, but darker red instead. If the dark red stuff is from blood, the darkness indicates that it is not fresh like bright red blood tends to be.
There are many potential other benign reasons for stools to come out looking bloody, either bright or dark. A few that I've experienced first hand happens within a day or less of having eaten beets, or, home-made sauce from home-grown, home-prepared tomatoes. The latter does tend to produce stools that are close (but not quite) bright red. Beets as a for instance are something that has always been somewhat of a staple in my family, but in particular, pickled beets. These kinds of beets often start out as fresh beets, with tops, purchased from a local farmer. The pickling juice is what tends to provide the ultra-refined / processed ingredients,
preservatives , un-natural chemicals, etc. Pickled beets usually do not produce blood-like stools for me. On the other hand, fresh-picked beets that have been juiced, this is a different situation, at least, for me it has been. Within 12 hours or less of having consumed fresh-picked, raw juiced beets, stools come out dark red / purple.
