I've had problems with IBS for years now. It's was sorta manageable for a good while.
However, over the last 18 months, I've been knocked down with bouts of diarrhoea for at least days and even weeks at a time.
This has been hugely debilitating to say the least. Of course, I've had to maintain a very restricting diet ( I'm only 27).
I started doing Dr Clarke's
parasite treatment and
Liver Cleanses 4 years ago. That was going very well. Unfortunately, I tried some local liver tonic which proved harmful ( it was becoming expensive to ship herbs overseas in our local currency). The ' tonic' caused diarrhoea which went on for 2 weeks. Since then, Whenever I tried the liver cleanse I would just land up with diarrhoea for days afterwards. The bowel just can't handle it.
I saw my GP last week - he labelled me with IBS as the symptoms comply. He wants me to use fybogel and Librax tablets.
I'm not keen to do so. I know there must be a real solution. When I told him I'm considering doing a bowel cleanse, he said that it was a bad idea as one should never do something to produce loose stools...
MY QUESTION - is it safe for me to do a bowel cleanse. Will the bowel be able to cope? And which type would be advisable. I still want to cleanse the body right through and sort out this tum problem, and hopefully ease my allergies. But obviously I need to start here.
I do have Dr Schultz's IF # 1 and #2. I haven't used the #1 yet. Would it be advisable for me to do so in my current state?
Lastly, Dr Clarke recommends a very simple-looking regimen for
Bowel Cleanse -
Black-Walnut tincture, digestive enzymes, fennel, and turmeric. Would that be sufficient. It somehow doesn't look quite as invasive as the cleanses all over the net...?
I am desparate for knowledgable and insightful guidance.
Thanking you in advance.
