Sea salt will kill your lawn! Spreading DE will not kill your lawn - but does kill all insects -- it causes their shells to deteriorate and they dry up -- so honey bees eating nectar from dandelions and clover can be affected. I suggest making some Holy Hand grenades.... see this website:

Cheapest place to get resin is from a boat or surf shop - used to make repairs to boat hulls and surfboards. It's noxious stuff - and needs to be made outside or at least in a garage with the door open and a fan blowing toward the door. They also heat up as they cure so make sure that you have a safe place to let them cure while they are hot - like a cement slab or brick patio or your driveway - away from your car! Don’t use a plastic cup – paper cups or water “cones” work well however as do muffin tins that you are NOT ever going to bake in again.
Art supply stores also have the clear (nontoxic stuff) but expect to spend BIG bucks for 32 oz.
The upshot is that they work well... I keep one in my car, one next to my bed and one on my desk at work. They also make it rain like crazy. So all of the particulate matter is washed away.
Make a small one first as an experiment... then once you get more comfortable, you can make more of them. We fill ours with quartz and gem chips as well as junk wire and other things, (nuts, bolts, screws, spent shell casings) we find dumpster diving. Copper tubing or wire sticking out as “antenna” seems to be particularly effective. You can put them in your shrubs and no one will know that they are there.
I keep one by my bed (no extruding wire) that acts as my “worry HHG” – holding it is soothing and helps me to relax before sleep. Also helps visualizations and affirmations to gel quicker (per “The Secret”, using their formula to picture the results rather than the “how”).
