i undestand what you are saying. when i saw how the mirena was shaped i was thinking the same thing, BUT i wasn't doing it to myself. a few ladies here did get it out themselves atleast 3 of them did it. almost seems like the doctors cut the strings short so you can't remove it yourself. i never seen pieces of my uterus come out until i had he mirena.
i was thinking that they had to remove it so they could fold the arms up, but they don't they just pull it out like it is, i saw it on the video.
my ears feel like i have to ear aches and i keep noise on all the time to keep the ringing down. the dizzy feeling is getting worse, i reached for something in the top of the cabinet and fell into the fridge. i get stressed everytime i have to step out of the shower because of my fear of falling.
relaxing is so hard to do even when i sleep i grind my teeth all night.

what do you mean mutilation of your cervix? another woman told me the mirena was in the cervix. i don't know how many doctors are lying when they pass out he mirenas.

Yeah, when I had the mirena, my symptoms were like the worst pms that just got worse every week. Watch out for the "crash" post removal (worsening of symptoms after removal, especially mental/emotional, only temporary) You might try taking a vitex supplement to help balance your hormones and st. john's wort if you have mood symptoms, they take a while to work, so start them ASAP if you do. Thankyou everyone, with all the replies it gives me some comfort to hang in there with my ear, and try to keep calm about waiting for the removal of the mireana (something that I despise with all my being). Not easy, but it does give me time to think about how to approach the gyno Dr when I see them. Printing some information off the product site (side effects) and suchlike seems to be a good start. Considering the Dr's here rave about this 'new' product to 'help' so many women with contaception, heavy periods, anemia etc - WITHOUT keeping themselves informed about what it does do to people (or they are just plain arrogant). Also; who really knows my body? Really! We are the ones who are in them 24 hours a day. Even though tempting to pull it out (tweezers?) I did wonder if it would fold it's arms, as I did see the scan (3d) of my womb, and it does take up a large amount of room in there, so I gather it would be rough to remove. I also have been sharing the experience with my children (explaining the facts, and people's experience) so that they won't fall into the same trap as I did. Our eldest daughter is disgusted with the medical (professional's).
