Cat With Bacterial Infection in Nose

I have a cat that has had a chronic nostril infection for almost a year. Only ONE nostril is involved, and it is constantly snotty sounding.He has been x-rayed, and the infection seems to be limited to his nasal cavity. (Cats have very complex nasal passages). A culture was done, and it is pointing to three types of bacteria. He has recently started Baytril, and I do nebulize him twice daily with Acamicin.

I would suggest both drops in the nostrils and also give it to your cat internally. Add about an ounce at a time to his drinking water for now. When he gets well, then you can reduce the amount. And yes, this will clear it up.

I am new to using CS, but this is what I bought yesterday; "Nature's Sunshine" brand ...Silver Shield, with Aqua Sol Technology, AND "INVISION" Silver 100 (100ppm) Ionic Silver Complex drops.
Would it help for you to know what bacteria was shown in the culture, or is this irrelevant?

In no way are you going to poison your cat with colloidal or ionic silver and it is very unlikely that any blueness in the gums could be caused by only a few drops of silver this soon. However, you should make sure that you are not contaminating the silver with salt (such as might be found in saline solution), since it will contaminate the silver and may result in the formation of silver nitrate, which COULD causing staining over time.
Besides using nose drops you should also put a few teaspoons or tablespoons of silver in your cat's drinking water. Your cat will love it and it will help with the infection as well as the overall health of the kitty.
Again, your cat is NOT going to be poisoned and the key to best results is to use a lot of high quality silver. I am not a fan of Silver Shield. I consider it an inferior product when compared to Utopia Silver or Mesosilver and personally would rather use the quite adequate silver you get from a Silver Pupply home generator than the Silver Shield product.

How do I go about obtaining the CS from "puppy"? Is there any chance that you could email me at my primary email address of jmilam@bak.rr.com I have so many questions, and to ask them here is taking time. I want to get busy on this.

Unfortunately, most health food stores carry inferior silver such as Silver Shield or Sovereign Silver because it is marketed to them and they get a better deal. You get Utopia Silver's colloidal silver by scrolling down this page and clicking on their link in the CureZone sponsors box.
You should not use silver and saline solution at the same time. Salt plus silver equals silver chloride and it can turn you blue (look at the blue man, Papa Smurf Karason - that is what he did) though it normally takes a very large amount and a very long time. You should be OK if you use them several hours apart.

This is a reply to # 1,202,221So let me get this clear,....if I give my cat the CS nose drops, I should not nebulize him with the saline/ Antibiotic solution for several hours? I am supposed to do this twice a day, so this will take some planning.
I am thinking that today he had a RARE asthma attack and that is what the blue gums were about. I stupidly thought it was the silver, and only realized later that he was having asthma distress, so I gave him his asthma inhaled medicine. He seems stabilized for now.
What do you think of the idea of nebulizing him with CS intead of the antibiotic? I realize that you are not a vet, but would like your opinion. I could not add saline to the CS, so would I nebulize with straight undilluted CS?- Nebulizing with colloidal silver dquixote1217

If it were me and the antibiotic were not working, I would nebulize with colloidal silver or ionic silver and I would not use saline solution at all. I would also absolutley add a few spoons ful of silver to the drinking water.

This is a reply to # 1,202,284DQ, please forgive me for being so ignorant on CS, but it wasn't till the other night, that I was laying in bed, racking my brain to come up with something that might be able to tackle this persistant nasal infection, that I thought of CS. I do not have any firsthand experience with it, and have to rely on other's knowledge, to guide me through this.
Yes, I will put it in his water. Yes, I will put a drop in EACH nostril. I might even nebulize with it, but probably should use the antibioitics up that he is currently on.
Please tell me if there is anything else that you need to know, or anything else that might be helpful. Feline nasal passages are like ocean coral......very complex, and lots of places for bacteria to hide.

This is a reply to # 1,201,643At the risk of starting some crazy controversy - I'll share a thought:
I have been adding a few grains of natural, untreated, unprocessed pure Sea Salt to my kitty cats drinking water - also, a couple of drops (2 or 3) of Lugol's Iodine (per 16 oz. size of bottle) and they are all in good health. No problems, no infections, no sneezing, no slugishness, loving, good temperament etc etc etc.
I'm just saying... ( and NO to those that want to start a debate...)

PS: I only do this recently, but can tell you one thing: If you yourself ever have (Bacterial - [not a stomach virus]) food poisoning take 6 drops of Lugol's Iodine dissolved in water and it will stop it in its tracks. No kidding... (So I'm thinking it will work for kitty cat. You may not want to continue once your kitty is fine but it may help her get over it.)

This is a reply to # 1,202,095As I mentioned in my first post, he has had this snottiness in one nostril for several months, and it is not reacting yet to any antibiotic.
I have to be careful at what all I do at the moment, as he is on Baytril, and being nebulized with Acamicin.

This is a reply to # 1,205,586I imagine a number of reasons WHY the infection happened. A number of them have been ruled out. Not cancer,..not polyps. Culture shows three types of bacteria. Because cat nasal passages are very complex, it is easy for bacteria to "hide" and then start proliferating.
Also the fact that he is 17, his immune system does not do the job it once did, so I have to give him things to "help" out.
