hello everybody :)
just wanted to post that i'm starting another fast of indeterminate length tomorrow. i'm feeling very motivated and determined to continue my journey on the road to health, especially in the skin/allergies department!
this fast will be interesting because mouseclick and i have decided to fast at the same time. i think keeping tabs on each other will not only be terrific in terms of support and encouragement, but i'm sure it will add some fun and help pass time when/if things get a little rough :)
i thought some of you might find this interesting: my family doctor (who i have previously described as "unenlightened") wanted to run some blood tests because she was concerned about my recent weight loss. she was screening for everything: calcium, vitamins, iron, etc. i got the results today, and she said all my levels are PERFECT, except for Vitamin D, where i'm actually extremely deficient. this proved to me two things:
1. that i really am ready to fast again because my nutrient levels are restored
2. all those years of slathering myself with sunscreen (because i was told to by my doctor, no less) really has caused me damage! it's just like Chris said! my doctor brought up the fact that i now have an increased risk for cancer and osteoporosis. but i say "NOT FOR LONG!" i started my sunbathing on my last fast, and i've been gradually increasing my sun exposure, so hopefully i will have normal Vitamin D levels soon. Chris, do you have any estimates on how long i should expect before my Vitamin D levels are healthy?
gratefully yours,
bella lucia
