I just had mine removed, but after reading these posts I wonder if you
all dont have a tinge of hypothyroidism? I had mine taken out because it
made me hypo, howver I do not have a thyroid, the hormone was causeing my
meds to be less than efficient. It is possible, even though the level of hormone
is low in the Mirena that it caused your bodies to get burnt out. My ob swears the
Mirena was not the cause of my hypo, but my age was. All I know is that I was fine until I had it put in and 5 months later I was so sick and tired all the time, even when my hormone was increased by my Endocronologist i didnt start to feel well till I begged for the active form of the thyroid hormone (hard to get) T3, only then did i start to feel better, however Im still not 100%. It could be you are suffering from a slight defficiency, get your thyroid levels checked especially your free T3 levels. Being Hypo will cause bad periods.
