I have done it with a water fast. I'm not sure how healthy it was....
I started days 1-3 with tea temperature water in my favorite tea cup. I followed it with 3 cups of room temperature water, same cup.
I got the urge to chew, I chewed gum.
Once I got my body used to the change in temperature of the water, my cup got bigger. The idea is to hydrate your insides so that they could start to work on their own to expel the contents. Human body is 98.6, so cold water would shock my insides and make it painful to not eat and be releasing. So my cups were either 22 or 32 ounces, depending on the cup holder I had that day, but I drank at least 3 to 4 full cups over the course of the day.
Day 3 I got a headache, but I also incorporated activated charcoal into my intake with the warm water and I added fresh squeezed lime juice into the first big cup.
What my rule was for liquids:
If i drank lemon in a glass of water, I drank 3 more cups of water.
No chilled water.
No sugar, no honey. No sweetener.
Day 4 I was weary from no food so my first warm water had lemon and the second cup was also warm. I took the activated charcoal with the third cup of water in the tea cup.
*in the evenings, and at meal times, the warm water calms the tummy.
I was constipated for 3 weeks prior to beginning the fast and full to the top of my neck with food, weighing 282 lbs, not even knowing when I was hungry.
Day 5, my family got extremely concerned. So, I started my day just as the previous 4 days, but around 7 pm I drank 2
ounces of orange juice and 20
ounces of room temperature water and as close to 7 pm add possible I ate a small Caesar salad followed by a cup of warm water in a tea cup and a cup of room temperature water in the tea cup. I would do ab excercises to engage my muscles in the effort of passing the gas and matter. I also used a heating pad and warm compress on my tummy to soothe the gas. I started going by day 3 but saw my first sludge in day 5...I'm going to do it again sans juice subbing it with
Sea Salt ...i lost 5
pounds a week for 8 weeks eating only mixed green salads, okra, Brussels sprouts and nothing spicy. Small portions though. (I ate 2 meals a day in a bowl the size of a toddler bowl once I reincorporated food into my system the first 3 weeks,{not over filled} adding a 3rd meal the 4th week)
After day 5, I would begin the day as days 1-4, subbing the 2nd and 3rd tea cup with a larger cup of room temperature water (easier for me, but I just calculated drinking 4 cups) At least once a week, I ate okra and Brussels sprouts
to jump-start my bowel movements. I lost 80 lbs in 5 months. I did change my diet to only vegetables, walnuts, and baked fish or boiled chicken. No vinegar and heavy garlic and ginger.
