I understand your struggles with the concept of God, at least I think I do if you are saying that for you, all you know is that "God IS" and that the God of Creation is too big to contain in any single book or building. Especially ones that have been built and written, however devinely inspired, by mere mortal men.
Insofar as abolishing organized religion ending wars and bloodshed, you are dreaming - however pleasant those dreams may be. Man has been and still is far too barbaric and caught up in greed, wealth, power territory, sex, etc., and ending religion, organized or not, would not immediately change that. Organized religion has been used as a tool and justification for war by those in power throughout the ages, but the wars themselves have seldom been about religion itself and would have likely happened anyway.
