Just wanted to add a note about the question on regularity. Many people, myself included, have bowells that are conditioned to move somewhat regularly - like once a day, due to regular intake of solid food. In other words, when you stop the regular intake of solid foods this may have the effect of taking away one of the prime factors that had previously helped keep the bowells sorta kinda moving regularly.
More to the point, at least in my case, even after introducing healthier habits, including bowell herbs taken daily for over a year, the regularity did not increase the way I had hoped. Part of this was that I had not done a real good job cleaning up daily diet habits (food choices). The good news is that even though I was still mostly a regular once-a-day'er, this was a more bountiful once a day experience after starting the regular intake of bowell herbs.
Just recently I switched to trying a different brand of bowell herbs, switching to some of Schulze's herb products - ICF#1 and ICF#2. This has made a huge difference. He advises to start out taking 1 #1 capsule, plus up to 5 teaspoons of #2, spread out over the day (1 teaspoon mixed in juice and or water, 5 times a day). He then advises that if this does not produce dramatic results within 24 hours, increase the #1 intake to 2 per day. I did not get dramatic results with just 1 #1, so I increased to 2. By day 3, the results were dramatic. These 2 formulas compliment each other. The #2 formula also provides some scrubbing action if you will (like the
Bentonite and charcoal), good for cleaning the nooks / crevices /fissures in the bowell lining, and also increases volume of output. Since starting this regimen, BMs are now occuring at least 2 times a day and often 3. This is something you might want to consider.
