Had this dream sometime last year.
I was walking along with a male companion. We were talking and laughing.
Can't recall exact content, but the mood was very comfortable and friendly.
Then I started urging him to go out with, or start a relationship with
another woman. I know I told him that she was a very kind compassionate
person. He seemed reluctant, but told me he'd give it a try.
"What'll you do if it doesn't work out?" I asked.
"I'll come back and marry you." he replied.
I actually felt my heart give a little flutter as I thought, "How romantic!"
Unsure if he said that because he meant it, or because it was what
he thought I wanted to hear,
I queried, "Are you really sure you want to do that?"
Shrugging his shoulders he said, "I don't know."
As if on que a double door opens center down the hall.
In walks the other woman. She 's a brunette wearing glasses.
As he approaches her she reaches out and grabs the front of
his shirt pulling him to her. Then she lays a lip lock on this guy
while her knee travels up the back of his leg.
I begin to wonder if maybe I misjudged her.
I also had doubts about the wisdom of that saying:
If you love something, set it free.
If it's yours it'll come back to you.
and wondered if I'd ever see him again.

Wow, pretty similar to my last dream...question? This man, was it someone that you knew or just someone in a dream? Also, what made you tell him to try asking another woman when he seemed to have hinted that it was you that he wants? Its an interesting play on words because he said if it didn't work out with that lady he'd come back to marry you and I wonder was that the response that you wanted? if so, why let him go to another women when it does seem you had interest in him?
Its amazing how the subconcious can mimic real life in a way because you wonder..why wait to tell someone you have feelings for them or just hide those feelings while telling that person to go to someone else instead of you? In my case, its similar in that in real life we both met, really hit it off...she dropped hints that she had feelings for me and I did the same towards her but, I never said them openly until it was to late and she's with someone that she really shouldn't be with...- Re: Steve - Here's mine... lilpolock

This is a reply to # 1,111,049Sorry for the wait, computer problems.
OK, this man is not someone I know in real life.
As a dream figure however, (dark hair) he seems to pop up
quite often. I believe he is what is referred to as the Animus.
The soul figure, the opposite polarity... whatever.
This guy and I are quite alike, especially in our indecisiveness
about commitment.
I think that's why I encouraged him to go elsewhere.
To find someone who not only knows what they want,
but has no fear in claiming it.
As I wrote this dream a couple of things became apparent
to me that I hadn't realized before.
One is that I'm a near-sighted brunette.
Another is the symbolism of the double door.
I believe it represents the heart.
Then I used the term "lip-lock"...
Sometimes my user name gets misspelled this way - lol!
Soo it seems I do have characteristics of this "other woman"
but find myself disinclined to identify with her.
There are a lot of "power issues" revolving around her
that I find distasteful.
So much for my dream.
What about your lady friend?
Do you have a way to contact her?
An address or phone number?
If I were you I'd try and keep in contact,
find out about her interests, ideas, beliefs.
See if there is some kind of foundation to build on,
even if friendship is all that results, it will still enrich your life.
