Hello, My Name is Chuck Turner. Many Of You May Know Me From My Earlier Postings of May/June of 2007. I Am Nineteen Years Old. I Haven't Been to These Forums in Months.
This Last Post by This 18 Year Old Really Caught My Eye. He Reminds Me of Myself.. Short Intro I Have Always Been Social. I Have Always Been Involved in Relationships, I Consider Myself a Person with Much to Let Out. After EC Randomly Hit Me, I Thought It Was the End of The World.. And BELIEVE ME It Was A BAD Case Of EC. I Didn't Even Feel Human Anymore. I Felt as If my SOCIAL LIFE WAS OVER.
Notice How I Have not Posted For Months. I Hope That This Message Will Serve As An Inspiration; For Those who Believe EC IS PERMANENT; IT IS NOT! It May Last a Few Months; However With a healthy Diet and A Strong Mindset You Will Come to Find that The Body Has A Natural Way of Re-Juvenating itself. My Lips Still Have a Mild Case of EC; But it Is NOTHING LIKE IT WAS BEFORE AND MY LIPS HAVE VIRTUALLY RETURNED TO NORMAL! I Am Now Myself Again. I Am Chuck Turner. I Am The Social Being God INTENDED ME TO BE!

This is a reply to # 1,094,529With all due respect your case sounds like you had chapped lips or a while, nothing compared to the tourment that people have suffered on here for years.
People have tried healthy diets, surgery, leaving alone, anit-depressants, everything over years with no success.
It just sounds a bit patronising to hear ' go and get some lip balm and think positive'
I would like to see some pictures of how bad your lips were.

MoreThis is a reply to # 1,094,529I personally think this is a great post. Thanks Chuck. I think it is very funny and sad how no one on this forum wants to listen when someone gets better. They just pass it off as being something different than what they have, like they have all the knowledge about this. If it's hard we just don't try it. Waiting for the quick fix is going to take a long time guys. A LONG TIME. This is something else. Something deeper. Try some of this stuff. Make some changes. I personally am ALOT better, but no one really responds when I post. It's ok but I feel so bad because I want you guys to get better so bad. As much as myself.
People like Chuck have all made the same kind of life changes and they are the only ones getting better. Does no one see this trend???

This is a reply to # 1,094,529Hey Chuck, thanks for your message. Can I ask what your lip cycle was like and what they would look like? For me, there is not bleeding or scabbing really, just an accumulation of thick dead skin over the period of a couple days on the whole lower lip, and most of the top.

This is a reply to # 1,094,687I like the positivity of your message but at the same time I don't believe that your condition was brought on the same as most of us. Most of us got it from picking at the lips or biting. I picked at my lips because I was taking theatre in college and had a big ego so I became OCD about the slightest blemish (talk about the irony). The damage is much deeper when you inflict it on yourself not to mention the regret you have for doing it. When I look back I was very vain and ungrateful. When you have this condition for a long time its hard to think that it will ever change because trust me I could be in a state of ecstacy for a month and it wouldnt change my condition. The only thing that can heal it is time and maintaining it without doing further damage. Look at the pictures in the Image Gallery and tell me if it looked like that. Mine do.

This is a reply to # 1,095,030He didn't say he just put on Burt's Bees and he was cured. He said he changed his diet, mind and lifestyle. I am telling you guys my lips looked EXACTLY like the pictures. Yellow, crusty, huge freakish things that bled and peeled and were generally fucked. I couldn't leave my house! MY LIPS ARE SO VERY CLOSE TO NORMAL NOW IT IS AMAZING! Listen to Chuck. I didn't mean to sound like I was attacking anyone. There is just more to it than we think, I'm sure of it.

This is a reply to # 1,095,127Protopic didn't help very much at all. They didn't start getting better until I stopped using all that crap. Just straight all natural lip balm, diet change, exercise, and natural oils. I've been using sesame oil before bed and sometimes right after my morning shower. Great moisturizer. I also picked as little as possible. The more I pick the faster I peel. I do still peel a little but it is a different kind of peeling entirely, believe me. They are not all the way normal as I've said or I wouldn't be here, but the are at a very acceptable level now. I smile and laugh at work, I go out with friends, it's great!
I've been taking vit e, spirulina lately. Don't know if that's helping or not but it's good for me. The spirulina is very alkalizing. Alkalize, alkalize, alkalize! Don't expect these supplements and moisturizers to all of the sudden work by themselves. I think the healthier my body gets, the more my body lets these things work to heal it. Know what I mean?

This is a reply to # 1,095,277Diet and Lifestyle changes that he did in around a month, look at his post's he was only on the forum for a month and there is no detail with diet, plus he was a 'SOCIAL ANIMAL ' and was goping out for a few drinks from time to time, now thats really healthy!

This is a reply to # 1,095,354Well its true, there are probably people a lot of people on this forum who think they have EC, but its probably just regular cheilitis. They think they have unsightly lips. If I don't peel my lips the first couple days when my top lip peels its equivalent to looking like I have buck teeth. The next day is like I opened a box of cornflakes and stuck them on my lips. And when the middle of the lip peels it starts curling and forms a pair of fangs or something that might look like a walrus lol.

Uklad, Your Negative Mindset Is Probably Your Downfall. Mock Me if You Want, I Tried Giving an Inspirational Message of Hope to Those who Suffered as I Suffered. I'm The One who Conquered This Condition, And Believe Me this Was no Case of "Chapped Lips". Someone Who Replied to My Post Earlier Was Right, Those Who Post Success Stories are Dismissed and Ridiculed. I Have Not Stated that My Condition is Cured. My Lips (Half of My Bottom Lip and The Middle of My Top Lip) Continue to Peel on A Regular Basis and THIS CONDITION STILL AFFECTS ME TO THIS DAY. I WAS SIMPLY STATING THAT I HAVE IMPROVED DRAMATICALLY THROUGH DIET, BEESWAX, AND AN EXTREMELY POSITIVE MINDSET AND I HOPE THAT YOU CAN FIND YOUR CURE AS WELL. Believe Me, This Condition Almost Ruined My Life. It Was Fucking Terrible, And If You Want to Dismiss Me As Someone Who Just Had a "Bad Case of Chapped Lips" Then Fuck You. Be Miserable and Continue to Live Your Life in Sorrow. Those Who Responded Positively to My Post, I Wish The Best To You! Believe Me, It WILL Get Better. I Started Applying Beeswax Nine Months Ago, And It Takes a Few Months of Consistent Application to See Results. Believe Me, I Didn't Know that I Would Get Long Term Results From This. I Only Used it To Cover Up The Discoloration of The Half of My Bottom Lip Which Was EXTREMELY Affected. You Guys Keep Your Heads Up. This CAN Be Overcame With A Positive Mindset, And Knowing That It Will Eventually Improve to The Point Where It Isn't Even Noticable. BELIEVE ME. Until Then, Occupy Your Time By Working Or Doing Something Else Productive, Such As Self-Educating Or Reading A Book. That Is What I Did, On a Healthy Diet. Also, Eat Plenty Of Vitamins and Take Omega Fish Oil Pills. This Helps Tremendously. Again, I Wish You Guys The Best And I Really Truly Believe That Your Condition Will Get Better. I Used to Be Frantic on These Forums, Which You Could See if You Look Back in The History of Postings. Now I Am Cured, But Not Cured Completely. I Don't Think I Will Ever Be Cured Completely, I Have Just Improved To The Point Where This Condition is Managable And I Don't Need to Stay in Doors; No One even Notices It, Nor do I!
Uklad, You Can Continue To Be Pissed Off at Life And Your Condition. I Have Been in Your Shoes, But I Was Determined to Fix This Problem And I Did. I Hope That You Do Too.
Thanks Guys, Keep Your Heads Up. It Will Take Time, But I AM PROOF THAT THIS IS CURABLE. THIS WAS NOT JUST A "BAD CASE OF CHAPPED LIPS". THIS WAS EXFOLIATIVE CHEILITIS TO THE EXTREME AND NOW MY LIPS HAVE BECOME MANAGABLE!
STAY UP BROTHERS AND SISTERS!! IT WILL GET BETTER!!
