The petition has 24,829 signatures so far, but needs 28,000 before it can even be considered in Washington.
"Stop the Sneak Attack on Wolves"
"Officials in the Bush/Cheney Administration are moving forward with plans to allow wolves to be killed in Idaho and Wyoming even before the animals are removed from the list of federally protected endangered and threatened species.
Help us stop them. Fill out the form below to send a message to U.S. Secretary of the Interior Dirk Kempthorne and urge him to abandon efforts to let states start killing wolves and to delay de-listing of gray wolves in the Northern Rockies.
Personalized messages are most effective, but please remember:
* Be concise. Make your argument in a clear, compelling way.
* Be polite. Overly emotional comments may be rejected out of hand.
* Be personal. Include personal stories and experiences that inform your opinion (e.g. “As a
Science teacher, I looked forward to learning about wolves when my family vacationed at Yellowstone last year…”)"
