Classmates.com sent me the following messages after I uploaded my picture:
Someone signed your guestbook, Name
Just in: 5 visitors signed your guestbook, Name
Guess who just signed your guestbook, Name
I could not view my guestbook without paying. Once I paid $15 minimum, I gained access to the guestbook, only to find out that it was'nt really a real guestbook at all, but a stupid log of the people who have viewed my profile, but instead of calling it what it really is, Classmates.com misleadingly calls it a "guestbook", which leads me to believe that someone might have actually written something in it of substance, but in fact was a complete let-down & waste of my $15.
I also had some emails from Classmates.com:
"Special offer: Go Gold to read 2 Classmates Emails"
After paying, I found that the 2nd email contained this crap:
Subject: Hi aye how are you doing nuw shotty!
Hi I'm Kw*** ****** I'm not sure if you might of known me but I jusy wanted to say hi ok good bye!
I do not know this person. I've read about other people receiving emails from people they do not know as well. It sure is enticing to have to pay to read an email from someone whose name I forgot, but hopefully would explain in the email who they were & how I knew them to jog my memory, but in fact, this person's email sounds like some sort of mass-sent bogus bait, & my good hard-earned money has been hooked, caught & thrown in the bucket by some damned scam website & I want my money back.
BTW: The first email's subject was
subject: *hs reunion - your address is needed
Hopefully soon we will have the location & date of our reunion.
If possible, could you send me your address, Phone number & email address here at classmates.
We are trying to get everyone addresses so we will be able to send out invites & save the dates.
Ni***** ******** *******
Note that there's no real info about a reunion, & I have no idea who this person is.
So, take my advice, & do not pay for membership, just to read the "guestbook" or emails from strangers.
