First of all, i'm happy for you. Happy that you got the results you wanted.
However, I don't think you have it completely right yet...
Fasting does indeed allow you to lose extra body fat. In fact if you keep fasting and fasting I can assure you, you will have nothing but skin and bones left!
The reason why people say you lose muscles first is because it is to a degree correct.
Our bodies have a certain programming to it. For example, when it comes to survival or when our bodies sense danger and starvation, it kicks itself into survival mode. In this survival mode, our body has a certain hierarchy of importance it ranks components of our bodies with. Like for example, metabolism, fat, muscles, bodily functions, organs, etc etc.
We have our caveman and evolutionary predecessors to thank for this. But going back, once our body senses that there will be a shortage of food, it reduces our metabolism and depletes our muscles first.
Body fat is actually used up after muscles. But it is a little more complicated than this. Because our body goes through cycles and if you starve yourself, you're going to lose muscles, then fat, then you plateau. Then you starve yourselves more, then you repeat the cycle.

In my own personal opinion, the biggest factor is going to be our body type and our metabolism. If you have a really fast metabolism, it will be so much easier for you to lose unwanted fat and maybe even cellulite.
My advice, get your heart pumping and increase your metabolism!
