There's a relative that is 52 years old, literally starving to death from pancreatitis, has been in and out of the hospital numerous times- has been on a feeding tube, and is trying to be able to keep enough calories down that can be absorbed- yet, in all of this, no Dr. would have ever taken liver/pancreatic flukes into consideration. The grandkids have told me how they put salt on the slugs and snails that live in this person's back yard so they can watch them puff up and die. There's no doubt that she's been exposed to liver flukes!
But, in the health she's in now, maybe weighing 80#, and already having a phobia about things like leaving a toothbrush on the sink "because germs are in the air" in the bathroom...how do you tell even begin to talk to them about the possibility of having actual worms inside of them?

I don't know that she could handle the whole idea emotionally, and she has hopes that the new MD Doctor is going to be able to help her- but when a person has gotten in such bad shape physically as she's in now, it also gives any parasite the change to take over better.

Deworming may be what would save her life---yet trying to tell her that is indeed a tough thing to do.
