During my personal spiritual development journey I have tried many different diets. When I studies meditation in Switzerland and England. I was eating vegetarian food mainly one plain vegetable, one mixed dish and rice and dhal with a sweet desert.
When I worked as a sheep farmer for ten years in the Snowdonia National Park (I think I was doing my Hermit in the hills bit). I went back to eating meat, mainly I think because of all the physical work.
For the past three years, I have been eating what I enjoy but mainly eating food, which contains the life force within it. This means mainly fruit and vegetables, but I am happy to eat what is put in front of me.
I try as much as possible to go for lowing fat options and trying to avoid foods with more than 5% fat. This is mainly because after I stopped farming I choose to go to weight watchers and I managed to loose 6 stones or about 100 lbs in weight and I don’t want to put it back on again.
If I were to offer you some advice it would be to eat a varied diet of fresh fruit and vegetables and whatever protein you fancy at the time. I would suggest being aware of your feeling before, during and after each meal and allow your internal voice to guide you when choosing your next meal.
Now I eat three meals a day breakfast, my main meal at lunchtime, and a small meal in the evening as early as possible so I have digested it before going to bed.
I hope you find this advise of some guidance
