I work outside and have been bothered with leg cramps for a long time. I did hear on a talk show about using black strap molasses. I started taking 1-2 tablespoons daily and have not had cramps since. I have looked for other methods and a couple are listed below. Hope you find relief. Cramps just ain't no fun.
I have heard about using plain old mustard for immediate cramps. A couple of testimonials I found:

Ingredients: Yellow mustard
Instructions: Take 1 to 2 Teaspoons of mustard (like you put on a hot dog) when you have a leg cramp.
I am a nurse and have given this to all of my patients that would try it. I learned this
from a 90 year of man that was my patient, and it works. He had a leg cramp and asked forthe mustard. The next week, I had a patient that was having leg cramps, and I gave it to her. She said that it works in like 10 seconds, and I have given it to other patients.

Q. I was surprised that in a recent column you seemed unfamiliar with using mustard for leg cramps. Last year you recommended that very same remedy.
My mother has leg cramps almost every night. Because of your earlier column on yellow mustard, I got a huge supply of individually wrapped mustard packets. She keeps them on her nightstand and in her purse. When a leg cramp starts, she takes the mustard and the cramps disappear immediately.
She got a cramp recently in a doctor's office. Since she had used all her packets up, I asked the nurse to get some mustard from the break room. She'd never heard of the remedy but was impressed when the cramps went away. The turmeric in the mustard is the lifesaver.
A. Thanks for reminding us of the earlier story: "A friend of ours uses plain mustard for leg cramps. She swallows a teaspoonful of mustard to relieve the pain whenever she gets leg cramps. This home remedy works so well for her that she carries packets of mustard wherever she goes."

One other thing that I am not familiar with but does sound good is Limu. I include this link for yours and my inspection:
I hadn't thought of it, but I use to have really bad leg cramps and I use to have restless legs at night as well.
With Original Limu, I really am just now realizing that those jumpy and crampy legs are a thing of the past.
