Many women (and men) have no problem using a public restroom's toilet seat without first, at the very least, putting a toilet liner onto the seat. Then there are those of us who don't even trust liners and avoid contact with the seat by any means necessary,i.e, by squatting. How do you utilize public toliet seats and why?- Depending on my needs and how dirty ... #69242

MoreThis is a reply to # 1,012,399Well, first I wipe the seat, then either place a liner down or toilet paper and trustingly sit down or I squat over the seat, for #2 it's a bit hard to squat!!! My kids are well trained and do the same.

This is a reply to # 1,012,399Now that is a great question. I'd rather not use them unless it is necessary. And then I use them to number one or two, whichever seems to be the necessity. I squat over them and try not to let my butt touch. Butttt sometimes the new fangled ones with automatic flushers will spray you before you can get out of the way!!!

This is a reply to # 1,012,399My daughter squirts some hand sanitizer onto toilet paper and wipes the seat down before her and her children use a public toilet. She also uses a paper towel to open the door and they all sanitize their hands after leaving the restroom. The door handles are far more contaminated than one might think.

wipe with available cleaner(if none then I use a paper as@ gasket from matierials available ie tp or other forms of parchment.
make donations
flush
wash
leave
In the situation of a port-a-john all of the above steps follow and one additional step.

This is a reply to # 1,012,399I cann't even believe this is a questions. You should NEVER sit on a public toilet without first putting several layers of toilet seat cover or toilet paper down first. If you want an infection, this is sure fire way to get one fast, without using protection.

This is a reply to # 1,020,133Actually toilet seats are built to not collect bacteria or parasites. Unless you have an open wouldn't on the cheeks you should be fine. However, with toilet paper on the seat the pores in the paper act as a vector for airborne pathogens to make their way from the air and water to your bum. Although this is basically harmless as your skin is a great line of defense against most bacterium it can result in issues if there no handwashing.
