HGH, produced by the pituitary gland, controls muscle and bone growth and
lowers the amount of fat in the body
The major role of HGH is to stimulate the liver and other tissues to
secrete IGF-I. IGF-I stimulates the proliferation of chondrocytes (cartilage
cells), resulting in bone growth. IGF-I also appears to be the key player in
muscle growth. It stimulates both the differentiation and proliferation of
myoblasts. It also stimulates amino acid uptake and protein synthesis in
muscle and other tissues.
In addition, HGH has important consequences for protein, lipid and
carbohydrate metabolism. In some cases, a direct effect of growth hormone
has been clearly demonstrated, in others, IGF-I is thought to be the
critical mediator, and in some cases it appears that both direct and
indirect effects are at play.
Growth hormone production is modulated by many factors, including stress,
exercise, nutrition, sleep and growth hormone itself. However, its primary
controllers are two hypothalamic hormones and one hormone from the stomach.
HGH levels dramatically decline with age. By the age of 60 most people
will have approximately 80% less growth hormone in their system than when
they were 20. Signs of GH reduction include increased body fat, increased
anxiety, social isolation, poor general health, and lack of positive well
being.
In 1988 Dr. Daniel Rudman discovered that when HGH was administered to
his elderly patients, within several weeks they all noticed significant
improvement. The benefits included a general feeling of enhanced well being,
a reduction in feelings of depression, a decline in fat cells, an increase
in lean muscle mass and, after a few months, increased skin thickness and
elasticity.
Another important benefit from growth hormone replacement is
strengthening of the immune system. Infections decrease, recovery from
illness is aided, allergies improve and immune related diseases such as
arthritis become less bothersome. The immune system is an important defense
against cancer and it seems logical that cancer might, to some extent, be
prevented by growth hormone. Although it has been speculated that growth
hormone might speed the growth of cancer, that has not been seen in clinical
practice. In fact, improved immunity might logically be expected to reduce
the risk of malignancy and speed healing from a treated cancer.
Dosage:
Your physician's guidance and blood monitoring is essential on a program of
HGH, and as usual amounts of this hormone are highest in our early twenties
and decline rapidly as we age. Physicians administering HGH for
preventative/ anti-aging purposes utilize in the region of 0.01mg to 0.02mg
of HGH per kg of body weight (2.2 lbs) per week. This is injected
subcutaneously (just under the skin) divided into 3 to 5 injections per
week. It is important to ensure that blood levels of HGH are monitored
before and during the program and that a full check-up by an Anti-Aging
Physician is performed before the course of HGH injections begin. If you
need to find an Anti-Aging Physician in your area, we will be pleased to
help. Human growth hormone supplements decline in frequency and sometimes
stop for a period once the patient has reached a IGF1 blood plasma test
equivalent to that of a 21 to 31 year old, again physicians differ on the
line, some advocate early twenties, others early thirties measures.
Side effects:
Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) and inadequate thyroid function.
Please note:
We are now providing the Serono Human Growth Hormone called Saizen ®. This
product has some advantages in shipping. Firstly it is stable at room
temperature (before the product is constituted), and it also lasts longer
once constituted (when it has to then be kept in a fridge). Once
constituted, the product should be discarded after 30 days.
We now also offer
Pfizer’s Genotropin MiniQuick, this system is the simplest of the
all the injectable growth hormones to use because it contains pre-filled
syringes. All that is required is to click the needle onto one end and screw
down the plunger to mix the water with the GH. After that it is ready for
s.c. injection, this system is ready in seconds and requires no additional
equipment.
HGH
has the most universal action, ultimately affecting every cell of the
body.
