Tuesday 9/4/07 - day 4 of juice fast

Date: 9/4/2007 1:46:58 PM ( 17 y ) ... viewed 1795 times I've attempted to start this fast numerous times this year, but could never get past day one. I figured I'd take advantage of the long holiday weekend and tune out the world to start my fast. I stayed away from all holiday activities to take care of me. I started the fast Saturday. Day one, was aweful. I was extremely hungry. I had a massive headache and felt extremely weak. I couldn't do anything but sleep. I felt so fatigued. I had cantelope juice for breakfast and a wheatgrass drink for lunch. I slept through dinner.
I slept off and on during Day 2. I woke up with a puffy face. The headaches would come and go, but not as bad as day one. The toilet is my new best friend (I'll spare you the details).
I was still rather hungry. I had pineapple and apple juice for breakfast and wheatgrass juice for dinner. I was too tired to juice lunch.
Day three, i felt much better. I wasn't hungry. I had watermelon juice for breakfast and wheat grass juice for dinner. I wasn't hungry enough for lunch. I felt a little smaller today. I know that sounds wierd, but i just felt lighter. My breath is horrible. Brushing and rinsing doesn't help. My tongue is gross.
Today, day four, was my first day back at work while doing the fast. I prepared by making watermelon juice and storing them in 6oz canning jars to bring to work. I had one for breakfast and one for lunch. The hunger is coming and going throughout the day. But i won't let myself even think about food for fear of letting those thoughts consume me and set me up for failure. I really want to make it to day 30. I envision a knew person at the end of this journey and I want to meet that person. I must admit fasting while at work is a tad bit difficult. That is why I am starting this blog, so that during lunch, I can reach out for support.
Oh, I lost 2 pounds yesterday. Awesome.
