I have been doing research on juicing for the past few weeks. This is something that I have been interested in on and off in my life. To start my story I have struggled over the years with my weight and emotional eating. This has more so affected me within the last 2 years when I have gained a good amount of weight. I am sick and tired of it and know I need to change this. Not only for my physical health but mental. I hope that through this online journal that it will aid in giving me the strength and will power to succeed in making the necessary life changes. I know that a well balanced diet along with exercise is the optimal way for a healthy lifestyle. What I am looking for out of the juicing is a jump start and motivator on the weight loss area, along with an all around cleanse of my body from the toxins built up from years of bad food.

I’m starting this after trying a mini 3 day juice fast last weekend. I weighed 230.5lb on 6/8, and after 3 days of drinking fruit and vegetable juice I was down to 225.5lb. I figured that had to be mostly water weight but I still was pleased with the number. Unfortunately on that third day I found out my grandmother had passed away. So needless to say this last week turned back to an emotional eating week and I am back at the 230.5lb.

Due to my grandma’s passing (she was very overweight) I know I have to do this now and I have to be successful. I am not sure how long to do the juice diet for, but my goal is 30 days at least.

My Aunt is an avid faster & juice dieter for religious reasons. When she is not doing this she only eats natural foods, and none that are of animal products (meat, cheese, eggs). So she is a great motivator for me also.

I have bought the Jack LaLanne juicer along with a citrus juicer and I am stocked with apples, melon, pineapple, oranges, grapefruit, and pears right now. I will have to get veggies tomorrow after work.

I am extremely thankful that through my research of juicing I came across this site. I think it is a wonderful thing. Through reading various blogs I felt so inspired and encouraged. I hope that joining this site can help me, as it appears to have helped so many others.

I give everyone a big wish of luck in whatever it is they are here for and hope you are all successful.

Tomorrow will be day 1 so I should get to bed and rest up. The battle against weight loss is about to begin.

I also have gotten a gym membership and am excited to get back to lifting weights.
