EASTX: Spring cleaning

I'm also realizing that my clutter, though well intended 'country' decor, is toxic to me mentally and spiritually. I tend to use shopping for knicknacks as a mood improver. I have been working on this for some time after seeing that it was a habit 'inherited' from my mother, and seeing how she now lives with multiple storage sheds and garages full of nothing she wants but nothing she can seem to part with. I didn't want to end up like that, so several years ago I committed to only having what I could fit in my house and use my small garage for seasonal items. As I looked around my home though, I noticed that I have added several shelves and cabinets to house the impending 'junk', in a way of skirting my rule!
I have now decided to remove all the excess. I have a few prized or sentimental decorations that I will be keeping, but not many. I have a lot of little shelves to get rid of now, lol, anyone in need? I'm going to be having a yard sale soon, probably after I get my early vegetables planted and caged in. I just can't keep up with the clutter anymore!
Oh, and has anyone else noticed that 'gifts' from the toxic people in your life make you feel bad? Like they have a bad energy or something?
