The Tao of Chaos
chaos reigning

on a global scale, the suffering and death we are seeing is a result of our evolution, yes, but consider the simple fact of the huge human population that is alive now. it is an unfortunate fact (for us)that there are just too many humans on this earth for there to be any kind of peaceful existence! if you look at nature, the mammalian world, that is, you can see the paralells to the humanimal world. when rabbits become too numerous for the population to exist in health, the 'rabbit disease' arises, somehow, and millions of rabbits get sick and die. pressure gone. when lemmings become too numerous, they instinctively end their own lives en mass. pressure released. humans have a conscious mind, and are able to think about their end and feel emotion and anxiety because of it, and the pressure is increased. disease comes along, aids, cancer, and the like, but we have technology and medical science to extend lives beyond their limits, to our own disadvantage, mostly, in the long run. so, we have natural disasters to assist us. who can say that we do or don't manifest these events, somehow, with the power of our collective unconscious? we have war to balance the population too, as horrible as that is. you could say war is the human version of an earthquake, too. because it is, emotionally.
we are all dealing with these dynamics, willingly or not, and so we must either find a way to deal with it, or fall into total chaos and insanity...hm, maybe the chaos and insanity is another 'natural' human disaster/balancer?
a sense of humour is vital. accepting responsibility for our own situation, not blaming someone else for our unhappiness, being in the moment and learning to let go of the past and what was, embracing what is as flexibly and usefully as we can.
easier said than done, but unsaid, never done...
