Here is the story long hand...
It was a cold March wind that danced around the dead of night in Dallas TX as the Doctor walked into the small hospital room of Diana Blessing... She was still groggy from the recent surgery... Her husband, David, held her hand as they braced for the latest news...
That afternoon the 10th of March 1991; complications had forced, Diana, only 24 weeks pregnant, to undergo an emergency Cesarean to deliver the couple's second child a daughter, Dana Lu Blessing! At only 12 inches and weighting just one pound nine ounces, they already were aware that she was perilous premature...
Still the Doctor's words dropped like bombs... " I don't think she will make it; there is just about a 10% chance that she will live through the night... But even if she lives, her future will be bleak and she will have a very cruel life"
Numb with disbelief, the parents listened ans the Doctor described the devastating problems Dana would most likely face... She would never walk, or talk, and would be blind... She would be a complete mental retard and be prone to many other catastrophic conditions...
"Oh No!" cried Diana as she and David, along with their five year old son Dustin, had long wanted a girl to make them a family of four... But now within just a matter of hours this dream seamed to pass away...
As the days passed, a new agony set in for David and Diana... Because of Dana's underdeveloped spine the nervous system was essentially " Raw", the lightest pouch would only intensified her discomfort... Therefore they could not even pick up or cradle the baby girl to offer their love and support... All they could do was watch Dana alone under the ultraviolet light within the tangle of tubes and wires; and pray that GOD would stay close to their precious little girl...
