There are Facts, Statistics, and Damn lies.... Mark Twain
Life is based on how and what we do with the information at our disposal... Either to help or bind others...

My mind reflected back to a book, I had to read for a college course, some years ago...
It was for a Statistics course... ( You talk about Boring; it was worse than watching the grass grow... ) The Professor said we had to read and report on the book " How to lie with Statistics" ... BTW: it was one of the most enlightening books I have ever got my hands on... Basically the book showed that you can have a set of established facts and figures which everyone accepts... Place them before any diverse group: sexual, political, economic, social, religious, business etc... State that they must support their views based on these accepted facts, and they will.... Not by out right lies, but by manipulations and selective useage... This does not mean all such argument forms are lies or misrepresentations, but that the chance is very good that there may be some form of manipulation...
This is not meant to cast any despairing remarks; to those who use stastics... Rather like many things in life, we should be careful how and where they are used...
As far as sales go, the big question is what are you or they offering the public??
To stay in business, you must offer some goods or a service to people, which they feel they want or need, at a price they can afford to pay...
So why does anyone want to buy your product?? Obviously You must create a want or meet a need... Sometimes it is just an improvement over a present product or service... Other times it is a whole new idea... Be careful as many ideas you feel are new have been used some where before... Always check your referances...
This is the key to successful marketing or sales... So here is where you must do your homework... Once you have formulated the bases for your product or service, then you must come up with a vehicle to carry out your marketing plan... There are a myriad of methods... Most of which you have seen or heard in some form of advertising...
I also took an Advertising course in college and worked four years for an Outdoor Advertising Company in FLA... So have seen this problem first hand... The problem as with many things in life is that much of the advertising is wasted... The main question is how to be effective...
Now we come to the presentation aspect... I will get back to this on a future blog....
See ya... Kermit
