Guest Bodie is in the side garden picking away.
I have been up gardening in my sleep since befroe 4 AM
and I am exhausted.
I do not want to get into one of those Sunday morning
Log Jams where I spend all my time writing and then
get to the FM with one hour or less to shop.
So much to write!!!!
Cutty reminds me that the Del Mar Fair is now called
the San Diego County Fair.
Sometimes it takes a number of years of new ideas to sink in.
One of the highlights...that came
after spending hours in the farm area,
was wanting to make contact with an eleplant.
They had too of them giving rides.
They seemed so very gentle, and kind spirited.
For $5.00 you can ride on the red blanket on their
backs. There was a long line. For another $10.00
you could get a photo to take home.
I took home a few photos of my own.
I have been having an interest in Cow Dung and various
other assorted poops since my spiritual journey
into the land of Agnihotra.
when I was down to nothing, Tamar the guest
was helping to put in a fig tree that had been sitting
for two years in a can. It had been waiting since the
International Feng Shui Conference to go into the ground.
Amazingly, he marked the spot for the tree with an old piece
of Buffalo Dung that just happened to be sitting around there,
don't tell me how. John Myers had given me a bucket full
a few years back.
I guess lots of things are showing up now from the past.
I decided to burn the buffalo. It burned really smooth.
I did the Agnihotra with it. I felt like one of the Macabees
who discovered some Holy Oil in the Temple, and was
Blessed to be able to light a Holy Flame when there was
Little Oil left.
I was feeling really good about this Buffalo dung.
I wrote to Barry Rattner, a purist, who has been doing
Agnihotra for many years. He admonished me harish.
"Under no circumstances use anything but cow dung!"
Oh, well, so much for ingenuity and new invention on the Spiritual Path.
Elepant Turds?
Are they called that when they are just pooped?
There was this lady who was dumping some in a can.
"Excuse me!" If I bring a bucket can I take some of those home?"
I don't know, there is something very Valuable to me
about having some elephant poop in our Enchanted Garden.
Maybe it is the Sacedness of the animal t hat is so incredibly
a Communitarian. They will never forget when someone does
ill will to a member of the herd. They really look out after each other.
Deena Metzger, one of the Holy Women Teachers I admire
is also very Romantic about elephants. She sees them as
telepathic. She has gone to Africa just to follow up on
Elepant-woman communications she has heard in her head
and come back with mystical stories.
I hadn't been this close to an elephant as I recall
in many years.
One of my favorite stories was the time I was almost run
over by an elephant herd when I snuck into the Barnum and Bailey
Ringling Brothers circus through the back entrance.
I then proceeded to make friends with a man in the band.
I was crossing the small passage to a seat, when this herd
of elepants ran by me. I had to jump out of the way, or so it seemed.
Can you see the headlines now?
Teen, might have grown up to be a Blogger.
Squashed by herd of Pacyderms.
It was Karma. He snuck into the Circus.
Oh, well.
Have you ever seen the belly button on an elepant?
I did.
Better get on with the day or I am going to get myself
in trouble here.
What was a gardening in my sleep?
Bodie made some holes for new compost.
We organized the compost area.
We made a new trail up the path past the
pomegranates.
I ran off charts for the weeks between
June 21 and September 21--the time alloted for
the Basement cleanup.
Am I taking on too much.
YES.
Will I get to that the way I am going?
I better get organized.
Too many distractions, every day around here,
and the emotions have been up, Up, UP!
Felt more like sleeping after four months of
non-stop night and day work.
My body wants to rest.
I will get back to the Fair story later.
Two Second Place ribbons...no First places.
Got a real first Place Education, and made Friends
with the head of the Farm. That was worth a lot.
Analysis of how I could have won a Blue Ribbon.
How to do it next time.

There are going to be too many piles around here.
