Saturday was a moist delicious day
that ended with a delightful party at Chuck's house.
Some of the people who were at Dance Jam
the night before were there.
Karen Wilkening and Steve Markowitz.
Chuck has been over here.
We are having a lovely party on the 24th,
a Saturday in two weeks, and I invited a number
of the people over here.
There was a lovely lady who was amazing at the party
last night. We had a close dance, that romantic song
from Superman, the original movie. She markets herself
in an amazing way, doing photography as well
as being a psychic at parties. Lots to learn from her.
So much appreciate for The Seven Love Cures
at the party. Did a bunch of them with couples.
It was yummy, and so appreciated.
Went to Nuva as well before that party, my Aurevedic Ayurvedacharya.
Don't ask me what that word means.
He has direct perception of the body.
and is able to zero in on the herbs in bottles that
fit my condition. I brought a gift of a photo of him,
but it was not anything that got a rise out of him.
No ego there. No use for photos. He stayed out
of his mind as much as possible, he says. Lovely
man, and it touches me how generous he and
Leslie, the assistant are being with me.
Why? How do I deserve such treatment.
What do many see in me that is harder to see in
myself at times.
After Nuva I walked the sand at the beach a bit,
and wanted to put my feet in the water
but was stunned to see a sign that said the
bacteria levels in the water could make a person
ill. Lots of young people were in the water
any way. Sign of the times...
At the service in the morning...
got a chance to give a blessing to Diane, who
was ordained last weekend as a rabbi. A number of us
went out to lunch following the service. She was so
authentica and nakedly honest about the pain it took to
go through the mental hoops to become a Rabbi, even
with a fringe renewal academy. I was encouraging her
to really step out and establish the natural organic relationship
between nature and Judaism. She is strong into movement
and body as well as how to transform pain.
There was a delightful boy who got a lot of support at the service.
He is ten. He wants to have his bar mitzvah with this Shir Haham
group. He is from a split family--a divorce. I was telling him
to have the kind of Bar Mitzvah he wanted.
He was facinated by the EG Mobile and his mother said,
he looked inside and saw all the baskets. He said,
"there is nature in there!" He so wanted to have a ride
and so his mother realized it was my vehicle and came back
inside and asked if he could have one to the place where we
were going to eat lunch. I brought some organic lettuce.
I am sure if I was a little stronger, we could have all eaten
down at Whole Foods, but we ended up at Baha Fresh.
He broke a vase carrying it in to the restaurant.
Later in the day, I got a call saying, he and mom had
stopped by a thrift store, and bought another one, and could
he come over to the garden to deliver it. Such a mensch of
a young man. I feel I am going to be able to give him some
support., a real genius of a kid named Isak. (sp?)
At the lunch, everyone was talking at the same time.
I went into shock, and withdrew, but then came back.
The intimate group allowed me to speak my thoughts about
how critical of a time this was for each of us to reestablish
or nature connect. I had a lot of agreement. Some of my closest
allies locally were eating together. I loved how I was faciliating
more than leading. Everyone had some meaningful things to say
and did. Diane is going to be married to Burt in Berkeley, another
renewal rabbi. She said, that Burt is going to bring up the subject
of ego among the rabbis when they gather soon, all the renewal
rabbis. I had my book "Rekindling of Faith" with me. I was
giving my Dad energy through the service. His picture is in the book.
Helena, one of my sweethearts for five years, was also at the service.
That was a sweet connection.
He is reassuring that the shooting pains I am feeling
will go away with consistent yoga stretches, one that
I can do. His gentle movements of my sacrum helped
me drive to LA last weekend, and then of course
there was some other extraordinary sacrum movement
that loosened me up.
My picture in in The Light Connection this month,
and also one of Joe the Farmer.
Today is going to be fun at the FM, and I better get going.
I wish I could spend some time cleaning up my space
this morning, but I also want to see if I can take 30 minutes
to make a disk of two photo assignments that are outstanding
for the FM.
I am enjoying feeling my body this morning, some creating
sensations increasing the circulation. So grateful I can give
myself pleasure. I'll never make a good Hindu in one
of those traditions that is mainly mind and calls this world
Maya. I prefer to mess with the Maya and live life at the bone
both here and everywhere.
