Whole Foods Continuity

About to make an important phone call.
Getting clear on what I want to say
To BIll, produce manager for
Whole Foods, where I have
been bringing in fresh picked
locally grown organic strawberries
the last three Sundays.

About to call Bill, head of
produce.

Feeling some anxiety.
I got a couple "bad" feedbacks
about some customers telling
the "front end" cashiers they
did not like being told what
type of strawberries to buy.

I can understand this.

I had poor placement on the berry
location. The first week, they were
next to the front in a good position,
but there was a jamup at the door.
It really wasn't a good place for me
to be standing, unless the whole
counter top was moved North
about two feet.

I asked after the second week,
and heard this would have been too
hard to move.

The second week I had placement
next to the inorganic strawberries
on the opposite side. Lots of
shoppers picked up the commercial
organic at the front side, and then
when I alerted them that there were fresh picked
on the other side, where I was standing,
they would walk back, give back the
commercial, and come over to the
other side, about seven feet from the
front side, to pick up the fresh picked.

Many of the shoppers who tasted
the fresh picked were stunned with
the quality. When I asked them to
write Customer Communication slips
to inform the Team Members of they
enthusiasm lots of them did.

My goal was to show the store
that shoppers wanted these and would
pay more for them.

I feel that is pretty clear.

There is no question that many shoppers
want the local fresh picked.

There is a communication snafu
between Bill and Mike who is the actually
person who helped me set up on Sundays.

Sunday morning is a difficult time,
and lots of emotions are present.

The first week, he was concerned with
the laborers going on strike--
The second week, more snafu's
Mother's day--lots of stress--with
some workers taking off.

Lots of different emotions among the customers
too on Mother's Day...Some obviously going through
feelings--maybe stuff around Mother-daughter-son
stuff. Some shoppers I see, just do not want to be
talked to. Others are grateful for a friendly person
and want some human contact during shopping.

I love being able to demo, and feel I can increase
my sensitivity.

As it stands now, Bill said we could have the
strawberries in the front placement area.
He told me when I called about the couple
feedbacks that sounded negative.
He was open to the local grown continuing.

I do not want to be fully shut out of the demo
possibility...another kicked out of the garden
experience...Welcome, then unwelcome.

I would like to take the Whole Foods employee
training, or sit in on it. I am completely open
to being more sensitive, and be sure I am informing
but not appearing to tell the customers
which strawberries are best, or which they should buy.

About to make the call.
I feel a bit more clear now about what
I want to say to Bill.

Lots more going on with my body today,
and things I need to do.

Want to finish bills.
Feeling mentally and emotional good
this morning.

Let's make the call to Bill.
Wish me luck.

9:24 AM
Communicated well!
one dozen more this week...
Feel I am communicating well
with Bill. Thank God!!!
